the conversion kit are for those that not willing to change to the new fixture, so they keep the old T8 fixture and still able to fix the T5 tube, in this case they still get the saving too.

for 4ft T5 the wattage is 28watt , the lumen is the same as T8 36watt, the energy save are also from the magnetic ballast , usually it save about another 20watt form the ballast. total energy save from T8 to T5 can be up to 28watt. therefore is more than 40%
