@zdeckich I was actually waiting in the staging lanes ready with the traction control off. But there was a problem with the cars before us so I shut it down. Then when we restarted I forgot to turn the traction control off, oops!!. I always pull in the water & turn the tires over a turn or 2 & roll forward out of the water. Then do the burn out. I've been drag racing for over 30 years & had a Super Pro (delay box car), I think I know how to do a burnout! The car ran much better with a converter
@zdeckich The second car in the near lane was mine. Best 60ft of all the GTO's of the day. Including 2 twin turbo cars & 2 super charged cars. Still all boltons, heads, cam, suspension, gears all stock. 1.62 60ft & a good light to boot.

My car is the 2nd race (with a correct burnout as far as I'm concerned) that was a 12.23 run. Faster than alot of cars with cams & or heads. This car only ran 13.50s stock in the 90F (90% humidity) heat. All you guys posting way faster times (stock) may be running at a down hill track!! Like I said this car aint my 1st at the track. Probably more like my 20th!

I think you can see there's just a little difference between the 2 cars! Then if you want to talk REAL racing my reaction time was .074.
I'm thinking about a 3500 stall to help me get my GTO off the line. I was told that by the shop that builds the converter that I would run extremely hot on the streets with that high of a stall. Have you had any problems with it?
Thanks everyone for the comments. BOM was my 1st choice & luckily I wanted an A4 & no one else did! This sat on a dealer's lot for almost 8 months! Before I got it. Have some new videos to post. Actually slower times this spring, but still made it to the 3rd rd. of eliminations!
12.8 is not a great time for a bolt on gto, seeing as i got the 1/4 in 13 flat at sea level bone stock, with plenty of tire spin. i could just throw sum drag radials on and dust him and his bolt ons

how are automatics better for drags?? if you use a sequential gearbox with a stick it will smoke an automatic nyday or if ur using a dsg gearbox from audi's, lambos etc
no pause in betwen shifts...it wont chirp w/ an auto trans and with all that power...if you chirp, you loose it completely....so you have traction all the time

The car does 13.1-13.0 stock.
With drag radials alone you should be around 12.8.
With headers, intake, and tune, you should be at 12.6.
Depends on weather though.
I ran 13.3 (65 degree weather) with my 6spd as soon as I learned how to drive manual, but never went back to try it again once I perfected it.
