Watching this video just made me realised how perfect balanced every weapon was in Halo: CE ('cept for teh OPed pistol lol). Especially the Needler. Bungie seriously nerfed that thing in every incarnation it ever had :(
@ExtraLargeChicken In H3 I don't even *use* the needler, it's such a travesty of the original. As for the H1 pistol, I certainly never minded it being such a beast. It's extremely satisfying to use in campaign, which is really all I care about. I'd say the AR was too weak though, due to it's wild inaccuracy. Frustrating, unless you're at very close range. But on the plus side it makes for a challenge.
I love doing that one glitch on T&R where you can have ten Marines in the Grav Lift battle. <3 Lots of Marines. Can't you also do the same glitch with in the shuttle bay?
@bluerubyvideos On T&R, if you run far ahead of the Marines to try and cause the game to bring in reinforcements when you reach the shuttle bay, the game just teleports your squad to a place close behind you, so they catch up. Sadly, I don't think there's any way to get ten Marines there.
Brilliant stuff! I'm going to have to give this a try. The original Halo just has that awesome 'feel' to it that the other games lack. Although some of the battles in Reach were pretty hectic they never get to this level!
@sonofdeacon Yeah, I can't help feeling that Bungie missed a trick by not including this sort of massive encounter in subsequent games (haven't actually got Reach yet though). Good luck with the setting up. It's quite a bit of work if you want lots of Marines, but setting up a solo battle isn't so bad.
@ChosunOne302 You can engineer a few intense situations in H3 with masses of enemy (as detailed on my site), but yeah, give me the CE megabattles every time. I hope you *do* try this one. Setting things up without Marines is only a little more work than you'd need for a spiral path megabattle, so it shouldn't take long.
@ChosunOne302 H1 had 4 megabattles. H2 has 1 battle of that kind but it's too small to be mega and there's not enough cover. And the only one in H3 has mostly territorial enemies so there's not really any sense of danger. There are 2 other big battles but they are in unfavorable situations: Sierra 117 just has a bunch of Grunts and the Pelican ruins the fun, Covenant has 20 Brutes but it's unbearable to collect them. And of course, most of the battles in post-CE are really slow or uninteresting.
Oh man this is so awesome. This has to be my favourite vid of yours. The set up must've taken ages, and the enemies just keep coming. This is something far more fun than any battle Bungie included in the games. That's some pretty purple snow.
@urbnrflx Glad you like it. Setting up a twin bridges megabattle with a large squad of Marines is the most involved procedure described on my site, but the resulting combat is ample reward I'd say (and quite a contrast to standard Halo combat situations, as you hint). And yes, purple snow is the best kind of course.

@BadCyborgMovies
And let's not forget the horiffic Plasma Rifles in all the other games.
Dual wielding them was the only thing that made them worthwhile, and Reach even took THAT out.

Awsome battle, BadCyborg!
I love Halo:CE. You just can't set up this kind of thing in the sequels. I'm gonna have to try this.
