Land Rover LR3 V6 0 - 160 KPH

As said before its a petrol 4.0 V6 engine, a Ford unit, not the PSA 2.7 V6 diesel nor the 4.4 AJ V8 derived from the Jaguar 4.2 unit.

I think I saw around 11 sec. from 0-100 which for a car this heavy is quite decent. The V8 will do it around 3-4 secs faster, but it's a gas guzzler.

agreed but based on it fuel consumption you'd either expect it to be quicker than that or if not quick then at least economical. it's neither quick nor economical. But then again how many quick offroaders ever got up the side of a mountain.... emmm 1 and what type of off roader was it?????? ahhhhh yeah a discovery.....

There is a 4.4V8 which is the most popular engine in America, the 4.0 V6 which has like 215HP and is shown here, and in Europe it is almost always sold with a 2.7 turbo diesel V6.

Its not a diesel, its not a straight 6, its a V6. You can get an LR3 with either a V6 or a V8 (TD if you live outside the US and Canada)

This has a 3.2 liter inline 6, not a V6.

the LR2 has the volvo 3.2 I-6 the LR3 was available with ford's 4.0L "cologne" V6 SOHC used in the Explorer/Mountaineer for many years and now the base V6 in the mustang. the 4.0 cologne is a real boat anchor, they should have used the 4.0 Aussie I-6 for the LR3
