I must say, I felt really sorry for Krank. I mean, how much of an "evil" genius was he? He was created to suit his master's ego, he had no chance of EVER dreaming in his entire life, and, even though he seems psychotic, he never hurts a single one of the children. He really is more of sad, lost soul, a pragmatic scientist who has lost his ability to hope.

I would have given him a second chance, at least... He shouldn't have died.

What a Bizarre way to go-- Being bound in rope as tight as possible from toe to neck, while balancing at the end of a long plank above the deep cold water. A large basket of fish and guts anchor the other end of the long plank. As the hungry seagulls consume more and more fish from the basket, the balance of weight shifts to the heavy end, threatening to drown the victim. The victim can't move, if he falls into the water, there is no way to swim. He becomes Lunch for the Fishies!

I always loved Miette-- she was Firstly so beautiful. Secondly such a strong character. being on the streets you have to think on your toes. Clever and brave. In that dress, she always reminded me of a little Alice. The END-- is by far the greatest SFX i've seen. That dream tripped me out! It was pretty amazing to actually SEE her become the Woman she always tries to be, and then to see the Woman who's she Destined to be. What a transformation!! LOVED it!

This became my most favorite film of all time after seeing it. Eveything about it took my mind, spirit and breath away. A mesmerizing dreamlike fairy tale masterpiece. My favorite scene is when Miette tranforms into the older woman inside the dream. The score is brilliant and plays a major part in the beauty of this pure work of art.
