Yes I know, with original tyres suspension is much firmer and harder. By the way I have Moskvich 403 and some spare parts for a model like yours ;) Aren't there problems to find some parts in Germany?

Das Nachfolgemodell 412 hat einen 1478ccm Leichtmetallmotor mit ohc Steuerung
und Querstromzylinderkopf sowie15° rechtsgeneigter Einbaulage. Die Ähnlichkeit zum BMW Motor ist sehr groß.
Ob Lizenzbau, unautorisierter Nachbau oder nur Anregung weiß ich nicht.
Jedenfalls ging der Leichtmetallmotor 1967 im Motorenwerk der rus. Stadt Ufa in
Serienproduktion.

Yes, the wheels are from 2140 and the tires
are modern western type 165R13 steel belt.
I have the sand colored original 4J13 with
original russian (soviet)diagonal tires 6,00 x 13 manufactured in 1968 but can't recomend to drive with them. they hobble and wobble and
it feels like driving in mud.

Spare parts for the 408 are quite rare in germany. Maybe that the situation in my case
is better. I collect spare parts for many years and have nearly all what was as spare
part available. when you watch ebay regulary,
you can find nearly all parts from windscreen
to engine. Chromium Parts are realy rare.
