  • looks like someone likes broken drivshafts

  • bye bye diffs:(

  • broken drive shafts here we come

  • do you have to do anything to get the batteries to fit in

  • Lol nobody wondered why they're wearing jackets?

  • what did u have 2 do 2 the car 4 it 2 do that

  • @808KauaiKai

No modifications other than different wheels and tyres (HoBao / OFNA Hyper ST set).

Other than that, just a tighter than recommended slipper clutch and a couple of cheap 30C 3S 5000mAh batteries.

  • @ubdb1

kool hows the diff and how easy is it 2 flip?

  • @808KauaiKai coon 2242

  • cool

  • Are EZRun Brushless Motors good from hobbypartz? And how fast would it be if I put 2 3S Lipos 5000mAh in my E Revo?

  • i can 2 time more

  • wat ggears?

  • you'll snap your "heavy duty drive shafts" like that :b, upgrade to steel and that ll pretty much never happen

  • Riveting. Can you drive it?

  • couple more of them, you wont be able to run that 730$ machine due to broken parts

  • @jugglesandmrmathess

I keep plenty of spare driveshafts and a couple of spare diffs, but I needed neither that day. I don't make a habit of doing this though - have only done it the once. It's way more fun breaking stuff by doing huge jumps.

If I couldn't afford to replace a few parts from time to time I would take up a different hobby.

  • @ubdb1 oh yea, it is very fun every once-in-a-while to backflip lolz, but it is also good that you were moving alittle bit when you did it also, it does take some strain off the diffs if you do so, and not just standing still, 0-60+ in like 2 seconds thats whats gunna happen lolz

  • what batteries are you using???????

  • @ThePaintedUke6887

    2 x Zippy 3S 30C 5000mAh

  • what kind of battery were you useing?

  • @ilovekershaw

    2 x Zippy 3S 30C 5000mAh

  • @ubdb1 is this the revo 1:16 ?

  • im more of a nitro guy (and i will always be), but damn! i gotta get an electric again!

  • @Whambadambadamdoo

I was a nitro guy once, and I still love the sound and the smell, but I'll never go back. Electric is just so much easier and cleaner. No tuning and messing around, just charge and go. Not to mention truck loads of torque as you can see.

  • Was this on a lunch break? I noticed that everyone was dressed up as if for work.

  • @lancer2589 You guessed it.

  • My mamba monster is having a problem, i plug it in and nothing at all works, all the wiring is perfect there, is no smoke or smells, could any one help me?

  • @jjonny52 Does it have a switch on it still? Those are notorious for failing if a bit of dirt or dust gets in them. The same happened to me. I took it apart and cleaned it out, but failed again not long after. I then removed it completely and just shorted the two wires together - haven't had a problem since (but need to remember to unplug batts after each run)

  • @ubdb1 i tested it with a multi meter its not the switch

  • @jjonny52 ah, bad luck - that's the only easy fix i know. Time to call Castle I reckon.

  • @jjonny52 is there signs its on. like a light or a beep?

  • @HPIxDrift nope nothing

  • @jjonny52 if you still have the receipt , call castle and they will either replace it or repair it for free.

  • @HPIxDrift i dont will they do anything if i dont have one

  • @jjonny52 They will still tell you to ship it to them and its the technicians choice if to fix it for free or charge you(the way they decide if they see any damage to the components inside). if you do end up paying you get a 1yr warranty and maybe a newer model esc. You should also bring your esc to your local hobby store and ask whats wrong with the esc.

  • @jjonny52 just a thought have you calabrated the remote to the esc, the end points may need to be set. I have a mmp I had to calabrate it otherwise it wouldn't work.

  • @jjonny52 Yeah it says MAMBA on it lol.

  • Awesome- thank you for making this video. These Brushless E-Revos are soo soo extremely powerful when you run two three cell lipos in series. Massive power is an understatement. And these trucks can do this all day without breaking anything. Even if something breaks it's low cost parts. That's Traxxas. Strong- low cost parts. Great Truck :)

  • that is prob the worst thing u can do to your motor

  • nice

  • I call that TORQUEY...

  • is this the 1/16 scale or full size?

  • Great vid!! Back flippin is cool! Anyone who doesn't think so is a farken dweeb!!!

  • what was your setup on that?

  • What kind of batteries are you useing

  • OFF THE WALL POWA!!!!

  • Does the tranny have any problems

  • Low traction rear tyres, looser diff, nose weight, less throttle would solve it, but why would you want to solve it, it's funny.

    rock on.

  • Any tranny problems

  • i like how you see the 600$ brushless e-revo, then like a little mini-t next to that dude XD that e-revo is a beast!!

  • Every single video I see with a revo, people are just back flipping it WHY!!, that shit is not cool.

  • @noobsyb0t

LOL! Perhaps you need to take the word "backflip" out of your search terms!

By the way, it is cool, you know it is... ;)

  • @ubdb1 No it's stupid & dumb, that's what happens when you mix a light car with too much power for no reason. Those things cant even take off without flipping, unless you start super-duper slow.

  • @noobsyb0t

    We can agree to disagree.

Is 10lb what you would consider light?

IMO there's no such thing as too much power - you just need to take care of how you apply it. With correct slipper clutch adjustment I can take off very quickly without even lifting the front wheels, whereas to do backflips you have to have it very tight - too tight for normal use.

You're right, backflips are a silly thing to do (I've only ever done it once for this vid) but it was definitely fun.

  • @ubdb1 my rustler vxl doesnt do backflips (yet lol) but it does take off so fast it flips back onto the top of the body. and i agree. with the slipper loose, it accels so fast, but tight, it goes fast, but wheelies alot. plus backflips are so fun to do and show off to any crowd :D

  • @noobsyb0t Maybe if you had some throttle control, we wouldn't have this problem.

  • @noobsyb0t you prove a point :)

  • shut up

  • So what wheels & tires did you have on the erbe in this vid please mate?

  • @leeescott

These were wheels and tyres for the HoBao Hyper ST. IIRC The tyres are called Trapezoid.

  • @soulessomg i got a savage flux and a e revo and a 1 16 e revo srry but i can do so much more with the e revo and when it braked it little parts lake dogbonesor front arms but i did a jump that i did with a flus and the front arms both broke and the dog bones all snaped and all the gears striped they were both stock

  • everyone who disliked this video is clearly a troll....I. Want. One.

  • dude wat kind of lipos are u running ?

  • @gtheferrett

In this video I was running some cheap 3s 3000mAh 25c lipos called winforce. They are not up to the demands of the Mamba Monster though and I have since sold them. I now run 2 Zippy 2S 30c 5000mAh packs in series (for 4S total) for bashing or 2 Zippy 3S 30c 5000mAh packs (6S total) for speed runs

  • What's done to that? Good video by the way...

  • @jmpin1 when this video was made my ERBE was completely box-stock except for the wheels and tyres

  • BL revo's are the bomb lol..I still think they do better back flips then the flux too..yours was clearing the wing and all easily lol..Or i am bias because i have the BL revo also :)

  • @Rkgriffy first, the flux is alot dam bigger, second the flux system is cheaper then whats in the revo. so u cant compare, ones built for bashing... ones built for speed runs.only.

  • @warranqe actually the E-Revo is longer than the Flux and has a longer wheelbase and wider track. The Flux is taller and has a slightly wider chassis, but they're pretty much exactly the same size.

They also have exactly the same power system. The Flux Tork 2200kv is simply the Mamba Monster Max re-badged for HPI.

Undoubtedly the Flux is a great basher, and the E-Revo more tuned for racing, but check some of my other videos for some serious ERBE bashing. The thing refuses to break.

  • @ubdb1 give it too me. id break it within first few mins. give me a flux.. wait already have one... havnt broken anything for 6 months an i put the thing fucking high an onto solid ground

  • hey mate question for the batteries, just getting back into RC, the Lipo batteries if they are used properly with charging and such are they dangerous wenting tooo get them but then you see some videos bout the bad they are capable of an it gets me a bit nervous ??????????

  • No, Lipo batteries are not dangerous if they are not abused. Treat them with respect and they are as safe as any other batteries. The vast majority of videos you see where they burst into flames are people intentionally over-charging them to make them explode. Most modern chargers have safeguards built in to prevent overcharging and the battery chemisrty has been made more stable in recent years. Read up about proper care of lipo batteries and get back into it. You won't believe the difference.

  • THANKS CHEERS

  • what batteries were you running in this video?

  • In this video I was running some cheap 3s 3000mAh 25c lipos labelled winforce. They are not up to the demands of the Mamba Monster though and I have since sold them. I now run 2 Zippy Flightmax 2S 30c 5000mAh packs in series (for 4S total) for bashing or 2 Zippy Flightmax 3S 30c 5000mAh packs (6S total) for speed runs.

  • thx

  • Is this a stock brushless edition? does it have one motor or two? im lookin to get one so any info would be great thanks!

  • Yes, it's the stock brushless edition which has one motor. It comes with the Castle Creations Mamba Monster Max 2200kV combo installed.

  • So its fast right outa the box! this is the 1/10 were talking abt right not the mini 1/16??

    Thanx for the info!

  • This is the 1/10 scale and yeah, it's fast alright, especially on 6s.

In this vid I was using the optional included 54t spur gear and 2 3s LiPo batteries in series (6s or 22.2V total). The only non-stock parts were the wheels and tyres.

  • by by diffs...

  • That's what I would have thought, but incredibly those same diffs are still going strong. (Although I haven't been backflipping much since this video was made 8 months ago). I actually opened up the rear diff last week for the first time since I've had the truck (about 1 year) and replaced the bearings and fluid, but everything else was still looking good.

    Lucky I guess.

  • oh sorry i meant to put mph in there incase your in canada or something

  • what speeds were you getting? that was insanely insane! and is this geared the same as for speed runs?

  • Yeah, I was geared for speed runs, but that day I only had 18/54 gearing in and hit a top speed of around 60mph. I've since done other runs with 25/54 gearing and hit around 69mph, and yes, it could still backflip on that gearing.

You got it. It's an insanely insane machine.

  • @ubdb1wow that motor has a ton of power. i broke a back skid plate doing backflips with my stock e revo. if you cack up really fast then floor it it will backflip

  • Nice! Do you boys allways drive in you suits? hehe :)

  • LOL! Only when we go out for a bash in our lunch break.

  • Nice. The blues brothers :p

Man its fast that e revo of yours!

  • what tires are you using?

  • In this video I was using HoBao Racing Trapezoid tires (offroad) for the Hyper ST.

  • ok thanks

are you using a LiPo Battery

if so what battery are you using?

  • In this video I was running some cheap 3s 3000mAh 25c lipos called winforce. They are not up to the demands of the Mamba Monster though and I have since sold them. I now run 2 Zippy 2S 30c 5000mAh packs in series (for 4S total) for bashing or 2 Zippy 3S 30c 5000mAh packs (6S total) for speed runs.

  • ok thanks

  • how much mroe do the big e revos cost than the small ones, im not sure waht to get but ive heard that a stock e revo, the small size can do 60kph stock. whats the proce difference?

  • The price difference is significant. on a popular online store the 1/16 is $285 and the ERBE is $700

  • what charger are you using for the lipos?

  • I'm using the EC Power EC6 - a cheapie I bought on ebay. It's OK, but since then better ones have become available in that price range.

  • so this is the saem gearing as the one where it was doing speed runs of 110kph? also this is the bigger version of the e- revo, do you reccomend the small version? what sort of speeds can the small one do?

  • Actually I got that wrong - in this video it was running 18/54 but in the 110kph it was 25/54 (but was still capable of doing backflips). I haven't driven the 1/16 but it looks like a lot of fun and very fast - about 100kph with stock motor and one guy did 132kph with a mamba max 9000kv.

It's a matter of preference. I like to bash in grass and on bmx tracks so the big one is better for me. IMO the 1/16 is more at home on smoother surfaces like roads and skate parks.

    It backflips very easily too!

  • BIG KID

  • Do you think it would be in my best interests to have the hobbyshop fix the problem as i did the same thing to my Rusler VXL it also had smoke pouring out of the gear case after a spur gear change and i had to replace the full transmission and slipper clutch ! I took the spur gear off the e-revo and the disc is turning brown ! I might get a full transmission and spur gear set already taken out of a new e-revo off ebay ! What do you think???Thanxs Damian!!!

  • No, your transmission should be fine and if your spur still has all it's teeth it's fine too. At worst you just need the slipper clutch rebuild kit (traxxas part # 5352x).

Check that the plate is not warped first. If the pads are shiny turn them over or scuff them with sandpaper. Getting it right just takes patience, but no real expertise.

  • i can do that with my 1/16 e revo lol

  • dont, do some research and fix it yourself, you might pay more money to them than fixing it yourself, and you'll get more experienced

  • Hi,

I have just installed the 54T spur gear and now the e-revo makes a high pitched sound like it is slipping to much and the gear cover has smoke coming out of it can you please help!!!

  • Your slipper clutch is too loose. Check out the e-revo owner's manual for instructions on how to adjust it properly. It's possible you've already glazed the pads and/or warped the plate by overheating it. If it's just the pads either turn them around or scuff them with sandpaper. If the plate is warped you might need the slipper clutch rebuild kit.

  • please ! i need help ! when i do this, the erevo lands and the shaft brokes(always). i have simple e revo with mmm in it ! HELP!!!

  • LOL. Bit like telling the doctor your eye hurts when you poke it with your finger!

Standing backflips are punishing on the drivetrain and I've stopped doing them. You'll notice in my video I always used a rolling start, never from a standstill which helps ease the strain. The wheels and tyres I used were also lighter than stock which also helps. Make sure you're off the throttle by the time you land. Maybe try loosening your slipper a tiny bit or adding a little punch control. Harder to flip tho

  • Hi,

I am having trouble with my slipper clutch!I have just changed the the 54T spur gear as supplied and now when i run the e-revo smoke starts to pour out of the gear cover and the spur gear is very, very hot what am i doing wrong! Any help would be greatly welcomed!!!

  • I find the best way to tune the slipper is by trial and error. On a high traction surface under hard acceleration you want it to slip for a second or so before the high pitched squeal stops. Start a bit loose and make very small adjustments (1/16th of a turn) until it's just right. Don't keep running if it either always slips (you'll burn up the pads and warp the plate), or never slips (you'll break driveshafts). If you get it right, then it backs off try some loctite on the nut.

  • awsome please wat r u running in that erevo cause im getting one the one with the mamba monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, the MMM comes in the brushless edition which is what I have.

  • what batteries?

  • Back in those days I was running some cheap 3s 3000mAh 25c lipos called winforce. They are well below the requred specifications for the MMM though, and I got rid of them and bought some 30c 5000mAh 2s and 3s packs. Believe it or not it has even more punch with the 3s than it did in this video, although I no longer do backflips - too hard on the drivetrain.

  • i have a question. i have a slash and i want a ton of speed. wat kind of motor and ESC should i get. im still working on gears cauz i dont want da motor to get to hot. i might buy some fans to. right now everything is stock exept for da wheelie bar dat i put in

  • A lot of the slash guys go with the vxl-3s with the velineon 3500 kv, partly because it's waterproof, and easy to use, etc.

Some others go for the Castle Creations Sidewinder - should be good for high speed, but depending how heavy the slash is, it might be pushing it a bit.

For all out ridiculous speed consider the CC Mamba Max Pro/4600kv combo. That will run up to 6s lipo (the others only do 3s) and should see you at or above 80-90 mph. Your tyres and driveline may need upgrading though.

  • is it 1/16

  • No, it's the 1/10

  • stock?????shiiiitt!!!!!

  • The e-revo in this vid was all running stock right???

  • Yeah, it's stock except for wheels and tyres. It was also lowered using cable ties around the rockers.

  • haha lol man ive been running my revo for two days now on 6s lol so far i twisted three drive shafts trying to back flip and doing speed runs i blew up two talons. today i went to show off and do a back flip and dtriped my rear diff. : /

  • Oops. Bet you had fun doing it though ;)

Try backing off the slipper a bit - there's a very fine line where it will still backflip and wheelie, but will still slip just enough to offer a bit of protection to your drivetrain. As for the Talons, mine lasted about as long as yours on 6s. Both diffs still original and untouched after 9 months of bashing though.

  • will any thing happen to cvds on 6s backfliping likewill they last a long time

  • I haven't tried the CVDs, but from what I have read on the forums nothing will last a long time if you continually do backflips. They will last longer than the stock shafts, but will probably eventually bend. In the meantime they may transfer extra stress to the diffs and the rest of the drivetrain that is harder and more expensive to repair than the occasional twisted plastic shaft.

  • ok when i get the e-revo im just keeping the stock ones

  • hey man i got mine to and my lipos should be in soon idk what typew of gearing i should put in the 65 or 54 spur. id like to have a little bit of speed but mainly rolling backflips lol. what gearing are you using???

  • The gearing used in this vid was 18/54 on 6s lipo. If you're going with 6s try the 18/65 that it comes fitted with first to get used to the high speed handling first before swapping to the 54t spur.

Rolling backflips are fun and look cool and all, but are hard on the drivetrain. You need to have the slipper clutch tighter than recommended and you will break driveshafts so stock up on those. This vid was the only time I've done rolling backflips, then I backed off the slipper to reduce breakages.

  • thatnks for your response. i ended up putting in the 54 i ran it on the two 7 cells. but i also got an revo 3.3 race one and a rustler vxl on 3s i clocked that at 73mph. i plan to only do the backflips whenever theres ppl around to make it look cool. lol thanks for all the info

  • stock?

  • Yes, at that time the wheels and tyres were the only non-original parts.

  • WOW DUDE

    thats awesome

  • that is the coolest thing ever ---thats the first time i saw rc car do that ---and i own like 10

  • was that mini or 1/10

  • It's the 1/10.

  • dude, where can you buy one of those and how much??

  • around 700 a nd lipos are expensive

  • thetoyz has them for $650 and you can get 2s 5000mah 30c lipos for it from hobbycity for around $32 each (plus shipping from Hong Kong) and an appropriate charger from the same place for under $50.

Of course you can spend a lot more, but you don't have to.

  • haha thanks man. i looked on traxxas and other forums. i decided its not a big enough problem to worry about and im just gonna run it haha. im only runnin 2s tho.. i didnt want to be rediculous fast and have blowouts lol

  • when you had your stock tires did you have any tire shake because of the tires being glued a little off? I got mine yesterday and they are a tad off in the rear... do your new tires ride smoothly??

  • Hey, welcome to the mad world of ERBE!

Mine weren't too bad in terms of balance, but they shredded the first time I tried a high speed run with it. The replacement tires I glued myself - did a reasonable job of getting them balanced for my first attempt, but not perfect. A lot of people use a tire balancer or modified prop balancer to get it just right. Head over to the forums on the Traxxas website for lots of good tips.

  • ha wallstreet gets into rc

  • Ahh gotta love traxxas hpi thinks they r so badass just cuz their flux can do back flips. Flux is the same motor as mamba monster.

  • Ok thanks!=) On some other vids. with crazy power like this they said 6s lipo"s" and i thought that was wrong.

  • Hi are you running two 6s lipos? Or two

    3s lipos?

  • I'm running two 3s LiPos in series for a total of 6s (22.2V)

  • hey did you change anything about lipo cutoff?

  • I have left the LVC (Low Voltage Cut-off) set to Auto as I run both 4s and 6s. In the latest castle link software revision you can change the voltage per cell for the auto setting. I have since changed it from 3.0v to 3.1v.

  • traxxas out does itself again!!!!!

  • hi im just wondering what batterys r u ruuning and do they fit in its own battery tray

  • See my reply to the previous comment. Yes, they fit with a lot of room to spare, but they are lower capacity than recommended for this truck.

  • What lipo's were you running? how stock is the truck?

  • Running some cheap 3s 3000mAh 25c lipos called winforce. I have been happy with them but they are not up to the specifications demanded by the MMM.

The truck is completely stock except for the wheels and tyres which are HoBao Racing off-road tyres.

  • nice!.....have you had any problems with it?

  • No problems as such. I have shredded the stock tyres and broken a few parts and trashed the body through some serious bashing but nothing that wasn't my fault, and nothing expensive or hard to replace. Got to expect a few broken bits when you have a 10lb truck doing a scale speed of 700mph.

  • my stock emaxx does that all day....

  • hows the gearbox handling that abuse?

i have a stock brushed e-revo and mine is noisy already.

  • my too - DONT WORRY I THINK ITS OKAY.

  • That was the only time I've done backflips with it, but I generally do drive it fairly hard. I've had no problems with the gearbox at all, just snapped a few driveshafts.

  • Comment removed

  • can you tell me the charateristics of your e-revo?

    thanks

  • If you're asking about the setup, it's completely stock except the HoBao wheels and tyres. That day I was using the included option 18/54 gearing on 6s 3000mAh 30c LiPos.

If you're asking about the characteristics, it's kind of like a wild, yet obedient animal.

  • Hehe, nice to get out to play in the lunchbreak :-)

Nice backflips, looks better than the Flux's i think.

  • Lol. We get an hour or lunch. What we do with it is our business.

  • Nothing like grown men in suits playing with Rc trucks. Ill be there soon! haha
