Robotech is the Western name for Macross, after the first series though the name was chaged back to Macross, with Macross Plus, Macross Zero, Macross Frontier etc.

Robotech is an amalgamation of three unrelated anime series that was combined together. One of the anime that was used was the first Macross TV series, SDF Macross.

Robotech Timeline:

The Macross Saga (SDF Macross)->The Masters Saga (Southern Cross) -> New Generation (Mospeada)

Macross Series Timeline:

Macross Zero->SDF Macross->Macross Plus->Macross 7-> Macross Frontier

Robotech is it's own universe and is no way connected to the Macross universe and vice versa.

robotech is a re edited version of macross for america, use three animes macross, mospeda, and southern calvery? the sdf 1 crashed on macross island and dureing restoration a city built around it. both the sdf 1 and city to be called macross.

Robotech was ripped off from the Original Japanese Macross series. The Macross Plus OVA came out way before that crap fest game Robotech Battlecry did.
