i'm a guy..and no homo but i could listen to incubus all day mostly because brandons voice is so distinct and the way mike aranges the guitar and the all just come together great...but yea this is awesome thanks for posting this.
chrissie hynde of the pretenders. this was at vh1 rock honors the pretenders. incubus & the pretenders performed the pretenders' song, "message of love"...as well as "drive" (in which chrissie shared her vocals as well). chrissie is also the woman who sings in the stealth soundtrack version of "neither of us can see". :)
Who cares what he said, this is beautiful, it doesn't even matter. But okay, i'm sure brandonboyd wrote those tricky lyrics with motives to make his fans fight, ahaha oh si! :) amazingamazingamazing

its really funny how fucking dumb you all are
do u know how many times ive scene his lyrics misheard? sooo many times, ive done it too. but the truth is, is that if u just look at the god damn booklet you can see what it really is. he doesnt say everything perfectly, thats how u make things sound musical. just open your ears and you will hear 'for god' it is slurred, yes, but it is there. the world is truly full of retards. or atheists who refuse to listen to the word god...
Mate, are you seriously calling us retards and the best defense you have is a bloody booklet? No offense, but you've just disproved yourself. There are a lot of bands with their lyrics printed differently than the actual song. The only ones that come to mind right now are Eisley (good band) with the CD, "Combinations."
Oh, and dude, I'm a Christian.
It could mean "Fuck off" to God since it's in its place, that is, if he actually does say fuck off.
Brandon has very good diction and I heard him pronounce "fff" as in 'off' on the end of that phrase not "dd" as in 'God'. Also instead of him saying "or" in the word for, I heard it as "uh" as in fuck
but he could have easily said "fuh gah"
it's hard to tell since he's repeating the same 2 words over and over, and the next word also begins with an 'f'.
The differences are very subtle.
anyway he could have changed it at the end as a spur of the moment thing.
@TGxDarkMaverick I know its "fuck off" for three reasons. Number one, the two times I've seen this songs performed on live television he's censored himself and just repeats "For good". Number two, Brandon Boyd for sure isn't a religious person (see his website). And finally the fact that makes me know for sure its "fuck off" is when I saw them perform this live in concert Brandon screamed the "FUCK OFF!!!!" part and it was crystal clear.
DUDE!! 3:22! I was definitely at that concert! That's at the PNC arts center in NJ - I remember they took that picture like... right in the middle of the show. Awesome!

First of all, it DOESN'T say "For God" in the booklet. Second of all, it's "Fuck off". End of story. Now you know.

not fuck off
for god... get it right!

it might be fuck off if you listen to the rest of the lyrics. seems anti-social like
jamahlsoares 2 years ago
No, it's not, I Own the cd. In the booklet it says for god. Make sure you know what your talking about before you say anything
TGxDarkMaverick 2 years ago
It does, in fact, say "Fuck off."
You can hear the difference when the song is
ending, you can tell he's not saying "For good."
On live performances on TV and stuff, it's "For good," all the way through, but the CD is either "Fuck off," or something very similar.
And just because it's not in the booklet doesn't mean it isn't in the song...
Prof3ssrBrando 2 years ago

but in the booklet, at that exact point, it says for god
i didnt mean to type 'good' i meant God as in the father of jesus christ
FOR GOD!!!
wow...
TGxDarkMaverick 2 years ago
I'm telling you, sounds JUST like "Fuck off."
Not at all does it sound like "For God."
There's a HUGE difference in the two sounds.
I'm certain it sounds like "Fuck off."
Again, just because it's in the booklet doesn't
mean it's in the song. A lot of bands vary their
words from the booklet...
