Acer is the largest manufacturer of computers in the world. HP stands in second place. I work at Best Buy and we always have meetings about different brands of computers all the time, talking about where they stand in the market. Acer is always in the mix. Mainstream and high end Acers are the shit.

Hewlett-Packard has a much higher failure rate than Acer, so yeah, That is what I'm trying to say. Best Buy sells Acer the most nationwide. But HP has a lot more commercials though. So they are much better in advertising and letting people know that it's just them that sells computers.

My mom got this 8.9" Acer, and it's perfect for her just checking emails and basic word processing stuff ... even fits in her purse. The only problem is this thing gets really hot, otherwise this is very affordable way to connect to the internet.

A bit off topic, but I wonder why they stuck a HDD into a netbook... netbooks are meant to be portable and have long battery lives, and a HDD just takes away from both IMO.
