  • About contact blade to blade. This exercise has a little similar with reference to a real situation, it exists only for development of hips and all the rest. In a situation of a duel with a natural edge, blades practically don't concern each other, or only with the back party of an edge. Otherwise the sword is easily damaged, it is possible to find a photo of swords in the Internet from real duels

  • I would like to say, that Kaspar have a deeply understanding of Aikido, and In particular aiki-ken also. And very sad, if some people give some technical advise, while have so a brief experience, only 4,5 years.

  • this is the problem with this kind of training. if you were making contact blade to blade with real swords, the blades would look like saws. the object isnt to block, but to evade. speed, one strike one kill.

  • This video takes place at Iwama when i was training there on april 2007. By the way the blond guy is in charge of the weapons courses in the morning when Hitohiro Saito Sensei is away. On that day he was the teacher because Saito Sensei was on seminar.

  • My sensei is Daniel Toutain. He trained with Saito Sensei during 10 years until his death. I have been training for 8 years and i never saw any straight leg, in any technic...

  • did u train with o sensei????

my sensi trained with saito sensi and became his representitve for iwana aikido in aust. and ive been training for 4.5 years and ive never seen any one have there back leg bent

  • back leg needs to be straight not bent

  • Not a all. In Aikido your both legs must be always bent. It's very important for balance. O Sensei always used to say that it's very important.
