Oh man, this brings back memories. My band Fortitude was on tour from Florida back in 1998 with Kill Your Idols. On our way to New York to meet up with them, we stopped and played a show here at Casino. It was super fun and made even better because we all brought or boards along. That bowl ruled.
I was supposed to go there in the late 90's (not sure what year) but I got in a car crash and went to the hospital. A couple years later, I went back to see it shut down. I never got to go in.
The bowl was my home 3 hrs a night 4 nights a week. MIIIINE. ;-) I gave that thing my blood, sweat and almost tears. It gave me back joy tenfold. RIP.
I was never happy about that skate park because I grew up knowing it as a fun house. I did like that it was still used for people to have a lot of fun. That is the spirit of that place.
oh shit, i didn't know they did this in the carousel house. man I wish that was still there!
