Yeah, American Idol is white bread and butter. You'd have to sing a cookie cutter song that they know in order to make it through. You have your own voice, your own uniqueness about you. American idol is not good enough for someone of your talent. You can make it on your own.

From what I have heard from others who have auditioned for AI, they let rediculasly untalented people through just to make the ratings. By the time the get in front of Paula, Simon and Randy, they have already auditioned and made it through. So what does that tell ya?

Let music be your passion and you are already getting somewhere. If you can make a living with it, then you are doing what you love. That is a success.

last i would fine tune your control, it will determine how clean your vocal runs turn out, which isnt that big of an issue for you, but just practice riffs, and runs, scales and arpeggios (excuse spelling) try them and practice until your neighbor gets sick of you even but practice... and remember **WARM UP**

work on your pitch some -- your voice is high to begin with, but you would KILL EM if you just worked on being able to sing higher, with the PROPER breath support, meanwhile develop a "strategy" if you will, so those songs that are "too high" wont turn up a disaster if you ended up singing them, a strategy meaning singing alternate runs and riffs in place of too high ones, etc...;

I LOVE YOUR VOICE helpful hint: work on pronouncing your words; becareful with singing with you hands because people wait to make fun and be extra critical of that; i like the texture of your voice, if you can do so, master your style, which is not a quick or easy thing to do, but if you can do so you can sing anything.;
