Once again, I have to tell you how much your music blesses me,,,All of it!! Be it hymns or the old standards, I am touched by the purity of your gift...Thank you so much for sharing it with us old folks,,(well, not that old haha,,,,71..) Looking forward to more posts,,,Ida
This brings back memories. I played this as a young girl during church services. I think the congregation would have had a fun time trying to follow along if I had been tempted to add flourishes such as you've done here with such wonderful flare.
This is so pretty,,,I played some at the nursing home occasionally, where my beloved husband, John, spent the last 3 years before he passed. He was in the Alzheimer unit, and it always amazed me that the some of the patients didn't speak, but if i played a hymn they would sing word for word, with such smiles. I wish i had your talent,,would have brought more smiles, I am sure! Thanks joe...You are an inspiration to me,,i love the old standards and the hyms~
Bless you for the many smiles you brought. As a Music Therapist, I've seen, as you have, how the introduction of music "restores the soul", or perhaps better, restores the person, if only for the moment (in that manner of speaking). Thank you for sharing, and for your positive spirit, which can encourage all of us.
thank you so much for posting this video. ive been searching to so many hymn arrangements for something like this but never found any, until i saw this...
Beautifully done. I wished I had a piano like that when I play in rest homes. Your improv is tight, the hymn is timeless. I just finished my first CD called "Hymns Of Gold". All the classics except one. I love the old hymns but I improved on each. Just beginning to market them independently. Looking for direction. I'd love to send you a CD (free) and perhaps comment on it with some marketing idea's. Marty
Thank you for this kind comment. On my youtube channel, I have posted (and continue to) individual selections from dozens of engagements. This happens to be the only one taken fully from the back (for which I had reason, but I don't plan to do again). Click on my channel link, and there you will find many videos where you can see me "making faces". You may then determine this post is your favorite :)
Hesitated using these because of the camera angle; purposely to avoid taping the crowd, since many Health Care residents were in attendance. Glad to know I remembered to comb the back of my hair. I'll makes sure my furry face gets more exposure, after I'm finished with material from this show. Thanks for encouraging!
Joe - thanks for the good idea at :42 and following -- I'll add that passage into my version. Nice work Joe...
