  • HAHAHA for tourist to come...do it on a bike!!! yes..a pedal bike!!! it WILL be worth it!!!! from a monctonian

  • Mormon tourists. :-P

  • Nice Book of Mormon ;)

  • Hey we have a steeper one than that in Belize. I still don't understand it.

  • I Lived In Moncton All My Life And I Never New About This Until Last Year .

  • @Anechy98 ive lived on the island al my life and only heard about it this year even though ive been to magnetic hill before lol

  • book of the asshole on the dash board

  • This is the weirdest place on earth!!! I cycled through as part of my cross country trip. When we approached the hill,, i found myself cycling in reverse and couldn`t get to the other side. My compass went completely wacky as well. The only way i could maket down this road was to pedal the bike backwards and listen to audio direction from my companion on the other side. He fell off his bike twice, and had to walk backwards in a circle to get there. Very strange place!

  • He yo... This not fake.. Its not even an optical illusion... Its more than real... My buddy took me up on one of these hills today. I just got home and i checked it out on youtube. I can tell its real...

  • "Help Save the World" If Hyperinflation happens, famine will take place. Also stop Population Reduction! (The)(Tea)(Party)(Truther)(Dot)(Com)

  • Cool experience but still an optical illusion, Try use water or clinometer or spirit level tool to ensure the uphill / downhill slope direction.

    Watch this video title -

Strange Gravity Defying Phenomena - Finally Solved!.

  • So the trees are at an angle?

  • measure the slope with clinometer. ! You can see the illisuon !

  • i live in sailsbury which is 5 mins away from moncton and i have gone to manetic hill many times and it is actually realy awsome, moncton i think is one of the best places to go on vacation because theres lots too do we have a casino, magic mountain water park crystil palaces amusment park champlain mall and every friday night theres friday night paintball at the sports dome and many more so if you dont know where to go on vacation come to moncton.

  • watch?v=U7FMHongxTE

The same slope in Morocco, in a mountainous region of the city of Agadir in Morocco.

  • its funny how everyone thinks its fake haha.,its really an optical illlusion, i live in the magnetic hill area

  • Yes, it is an optical illusion. You see how people hate it when someone explains it and "ruins all the fun"? People PREFER being ignorant, which leads to stupidity.

There are a number of things like this on YT, but no one ever seems to THINK of bringing a long level and checking it out. Prove it one way or the other, once and for all.

  • Je suis de TracADIE ALORSS aCADIENNE

  • I live in moncton and is totaly fake FAKE FAKE

  • This is so cool :) Nice place. Human brain is so easily confused.

  • There's one of these hills in Oshawa, Ontario. I took my boyfriend there yesterday, he loved it!

  • Here is one in Canada and I am sure Prophet SAW never been here or his she camel !....

  • you drive FAST

    magnet FAST

  • obviously fake. they just used cgi to make it look like it was in neutral

  • @supdawg9999999 they could have also had someone pushing the car uphill and edited him out later on their macbooks

  • @supdawg9999999 Your a dumb ass

  • @supdawg9999999 It's actually 100% real, but it is only an illusion. We have a whole theme park dedicated to the illusion. The surroundings make it look like it's uphill but really it's not.

  • @supdawg9999999 no it's real, I live around there. it's an illusion, that's what moncton's (locally) famous for. it's hard to explain but if you ever go you'll know

  • @supdawg9999999 i live about an hour away and its 100% real ive been up it...or should i say down it?

  • I used to go there many years ago when i visited my family up in Moncton, now that we are all grown up I havent visited in many years... course when ur a little guy u can get excited very easily...but is still a cool place...well that an the Crystal Palace at the mall in Dieppe..if i remember it correctly, has been a while.

  • @sparkytc1971 crystal palace is actually across from the mall but pretty much in the same parking lot.I remeber as a kid there used to be a huge play area in the food court that was so cool haha

  • @supdawg9999999 I live here, just an optical illusion, no fake.

  • @supdawg9999999 Your fucking stupid, I live here.

  • @supdawg9999999 dude ur a retard...

  • moncton for life.

  • @calhip20 well said

  • i dont think your car registers a correct speed in reverse.

  • @resteep cars don't register any speed in reverse.

  • haha I live like 15 minutes from here

  • Awesome.

  • Magnetic Hill << Optical Ullision :D

  • this makes no sense.. did you use a spirit level to check whether you were really going uphill or it was just an illusion?

  • @MrLoveallhatenone I take that back.. if this were really gravity uphill, even spirit level won't help, you would need a theodolite or a similar surveying instrument

  • This isnt unique. There's one in caledon, ontario. We figured out it was an optical illusion when we were 14.

  • @ferrari092379 WOW U MUST BE GOD CONGRATS

  • When there is no horizon on which to judge what is "normal" or "level" according to our usual laws of equilibrium and gravity, there is nothing on which to judge if this road is actually going up or down. I was in some sort of fun house in British Columbia. where you looked across the room and it seems perfectly level but when you enter the room, you are actually on a steep slope and it's hard to walk on it. Love this stuff!

  • fun!

  • I wanna test it with a ball

  • @U2fan24 it will only go up lol

  • i went there a couple of times when i was 9 and 14. it's neat but i don't know if i'd spend $20 just to go back

  • He blames it on the girl, what a guy

  • clean out your car!

  • My parents found another illisuion like Magnetic Hill, So now my family has our own free Magnetic Mountain :D

    (In New Brunswick too)

  • curse you mind tricks, you have fooled me once again.

  • Comment removed

  • I WAS THERE THIS YEAR BECASUE WE WERE DRIVING BACK FROM PEI, CANADA GAMES AND ITS CRAZY!!!!! (i think so) FOR 5 BUCKS ITS AWOSME AND ITS SO MUCH COOLER WHEN YOU STAND OUTISDE YOUR ACTUALLY RIDE UPHILL FRONT WORDS YOUR NOT GOING BACKWARDS SO ITS ALL A ELUSION!!

  • @TheRollerCoasterGirl

    Cool story, bro

  • there are many hills that look like that trust me but i guess this one is the only one that gets attractions to it, when i went on the magnetic hill i didnt see anything exciting about it

  • Some surveying equipment could solve this mystery. I see this all the time where I live, we have lots of canals and often it looks like the water is flowing uphill.

  • does ur car really go bac uphill /???

  • yea it's an optical illusion

you can read about it in any psychology textbook :)

  • I love this place.

I went there when I was visiting family in NB in the spring.

  • i still dont get how that works lol and i live in moncton and have been there many times befor

  • It's because you are not really going uphill. The surroundings just make it look like you are. That's why it's so cool!

  • @Kwijibo87 actually its not, tests where made and they indicate the hill actually pulls things UPwards, no illusions, its a mistery.

  • @LuisReefTank No, you're wrong. It really is just an optical illusion.

  • @LuisReefTank lol, no.

  • @Kwijibo87 took you 7 months to reply?

  • @Sinytress Here's How It Works, Visual Is Better Than Explaining...

  • @Sinytress OOps, Try NADstudio Page it'll explain and show you...

  • @Sinytress The slope of gravity hills is an optical illusion, although sites are often accompanied by claims that magnetic or even supernatural forces are at work.

The most important factor contributing to the illusion is a completely or mostly obstructed horizon; without a horizon, judging the slope of a surface is difficult as a reliable reference is missing.

  • @Freepepsi42

Thanks for going to wikipedia and copy and pasting this. A link probably would have helped people much more.

  • @TheSlugOfLove dats my job if i posted a link i would get marked for spam and i could of just answered in my own words but it would be less scientific sounding .

  • @Freepepsi42 Well that sucks mate. They shouldn't mark relevant link as spam.

  • I love going to M hill ! I havent gone for a few years

  • lol that nothing i live beside that

  • i'm from that area...and it is an optical ilusion!

  • if you look in the canal on the left side of the road theres a little creek, the water also appears to be moving uphill.very cool place ive been there many times. and the zoo is one of the best ive ever seen

  • I think it might be an illusion, what do u think??

  • i didnt even get it because um it just felt like normal old driving!! probally because the fact i wasnt driving lol

  • I just got back from there and um i didnt even get the magenetic hill thing!!!

  • magnetic hills are epic (Y)

  • crazy motherfucker ! didn't hear about something like that :P

  • ...so i live in moncton but how does that work...

  • Basically its an optical illusion. In other words, because there is no clear horizon (trees are blocking the front horizon in the distance) in front of the car, an illusion appears that the road is going uphill, whereas in fact its going downhill.

  • hey lol like that you can ghost ride the whip haha

  • I love how they charge you $5.00 now to do it.

and then after they explain to you it's just an illusion.

  • lol, "and here is the girl that ruins everything by saying its an optical illusion"

  • ITS REAL ! been there done that .

  • its sad, ive lived in moncton my hole life, and never been to the most famous moncton attraction, ive been to magic mountain (of course) but never seen the accual whatever it does

  • same here,

    even though im still young.

  • where do you live now ?

  • still in moncton...

  • Omg I'm going there this summer. I don't really understand the optical illusion but whatevs, I'll still try it.

  • if u use a bike or skate board it comes to the same i tryd it...even if u walk!

  • magnetic hill is right sweet

  • I've been to this. I knew before hand it is just an optical illusion, but I couldn't help but feel the car is actually going uphill. It is really strange what the mind can produce. The funniest part was you go backwards up the hill and the guy in front of us was hauling a small trailer. He was all over the road going up. lol it was hilarious watching him trying to control the vehicle and trailor.

  • the same thing would happen if you were on anything that rolls, you'd roll up... which is actually down. i'm sure they wouldn't actually allow it though because it is a "mystery" for the tour guides and they make you pay 5 dollars to drive on it.

  • Yeah ok buddy, but it's still fun. See, you're a slightly more mean-spirited version of that guy who ruins card tricks by giving the obvious "he's not really magic, that's just a trick!" Heck, he even admits twice that he knows it's an illusion. Stop being such a negative nancy. People put these videos up for the sake of providing entertainment to others, and if you aren't entertained, then just don't watch the video. Snide comments coming from your immature mouth are not needed. Be gone troll!

  • i live in walking distance frome magnetic hill but what happens if i took my bike there and did it

  • what happens on a bike or skateboard?

  • if you're on a skateboard a bird pickes you up and drops you off at the top again , and well, i've never tried it with a bike...

  • I live in Dieppe, rigth after Moncton going to P.E.I. lol This is so cool that so many people watched this movie ! And yeah, this is the coolest illusion Ive ever seen ! :)

  • OMG I rember doing this on my trip out to P.E.I., So trippy like it honestly seems like you are being pulled up hill. It is an illusion of sorts. Unfortunity I remeber it being a tourist trap, had to pay 20 bucks or something to do it lol

  • Yeah but that's how everything is now.. lol. Magic mountain is a fun place to go in the summer and the Kamekaze is awesome :P

  • Could somebody please explain to me how the hell this works? It's some kind of optical illusion that i read about on wikipedia

  • all the trees around it grew in a slantn so it's accually downhill but the trees make it look like its uphill cuz they're slanted!

  • Moncton Rules !

  • i live in the Miramichi 2 hours away from there its going down hill its how the hill it made it looks like your going up it

  • im not gunna lie, that was the fuckign dumbest place i have ever been it was a waste of my time. You are rolling down hill the whole time.

  • @brewerhocky10 =_= It's an illusion

  • there are two such hills in Greece

I think I'm not getting the point here. :P

  • I'm from Toronto and have never been in the CN Tower. I know how you feel.

  • In the dominican republic we have a gravity hill too, its very amazing to see how things go up. The name of this area is "Polo Magnetico de Barahona".

It is an optical ilusion but is incredible to see it.

  • Optical illusion... very nice!

  • ????

  • Oh my gosh! That is so cool to see! I'd love to go up a magnetic hill, oh so want to now! There is one in Oregon, my state, but alas, hundreds of miles away from where I am. But man that's cool.

  • The name of the hill is Magnetic Hill. Its near Moncton Canada. The water in the ditches also looks like it goes uphill. Its an illusion and there are other cool tourist items in the area.

  • itis in Moncton -_-'

  • What did I say?

  • You said it is NEAR moncton. But it is IN moncton.

  • There is a real hill like that in Portugal.

  • ive done it before its pretty neat, i used to live 30 mins away from moncton

  • weird, it looks like downhill to me

  • I live near the area too, kizkit is right, its just an illusion bassed on the ground level and the way the trees are slanted makes it seem like your going uphill, i went there one night for like an hour tryin to figure it out haha

  • my stepdad put it in nuetrul and got out of the car and it went up or down the hill all by it's self. lol

  • i was there 2 days ago i live in ontario and we drove to cape breton it took 2 days

  • Lol I live in Cape Breton. I've never seen this magnet hill thing in person

  • AHAHA.. and this is the girl who ruins the fun and tell us its an optical illusion, XDDD LMFAO nice one! I sometimes go me and my dad at night lol, no ones there to make you pay.. so free fun xD

  • They're not phonys at all, been there and done it myself.

For anyone who's curious, yeu're not *REALLY* going uphill... it's actually a downhill slope. The ground's not even and the trees are all slanted so it LOOKS like it's going uphill. Try walking 'down' it, and yeu see whot I mean.

It's still admittedly pretty awesome though =3

  • PHONYS

  • no its sirisusly real its funn going there i live in moncton its real as it gets. you go there and see it your self

  • haha, i live there, i've done this tons of times in the middle of the night, we did it on our longboards(skateboards) and bikes once too. why does it do this illusion, i've still never understood.

  • same here. Never got it. Still trippy though.

  • lol i love New Brunswick, We live in a small Boring town In New york called massena, But I spend my summers at our cottage in Notre Dame
