I think think the noise level on the fire alarms for one of our schools dorms has gone up. I'm used to them going on at all times of the night, but I live about half a mile away from them now, and I heard them going off a few weeks ago at 3 in the morning, and it sounded like it was just a street or two away.

nice room! so glad you had earplugs, we had an alarm go off at work like that once and they told us to try to keep working....it was a call center type job..D'oh!

Oh that fire alarm must've been awful! Would've been worse at 3am, though. I woke up at 3am to the fire alarm on my second night of college.

You're room looks nice. And fire alarms can be annoying. When I used to go to camp, they used to always to the test alarm when we were in the shower, and we had to run to the beach only in our towels. Ay.

oh dear! last year the fire alarm went off around 2am, so everybody was in their PJs except one guy who was in his towel and had soapy hair.  I felt bad for him!

I wear ear plugs when I play piccolo (otherwise I would be more deaf than I already am) so I had those ones lying around, thank goodness!!

I have to say that Chellie offered me her ear plugs. I just used my fingers.... and it was louder than it seemed in this video. It was painful! The good news is that no one could possibly sleep through this alarm and that is reassuring for the Mom of shortsisters.....

lol Sara, I've had a bad run with fire alarms recently. After LC I went to Washington DC and the hotel fire alarm went off one morning there too!! I'm cursed :P

Because if so, we at IU (at least in the clarinet section) do your hoppy-jumpy marching move to make fun of you whenever you're around, but that hasn't happened in the last two years and it looks like it's not going to happen this year. It's a shame because if I were to see you I'd totally come up and say hi. I'm not doing marching band anymore, anyway, but I thought I'd let you know.

We ran out of milk one day so my roommate used orange juice on his cereal!

One day I thought they were testing the fire alarms so I stayed in the room on the phone with my Mom. Then the fire department showed up and tossed me out!!

College was so fun!
