I understand your frustration but ultimately no one has a gun to our heads. The smart thing to do before trying a new product is to ask yourself how much money you're willing to gamble on a product. If you know you'll be upset if you spend $30 on that KCCC and it fails, then you shouldn't buying it in the first place. You can sample someone else's KCCC or write the company for a sample instead. Or pass it up. Btw, KCCC is an amazing deal for those whose hair it helps (like mine).
I totally relate to your feelings about hair products that don't work out for us. I've tried the KCCC and I tried and tried to make it work. It was NOT for me. I do love the Knot Today though.
On another note: Your backdrop and video looks fantastic!
Hey gorgeous, I'm sorry the Kinky Curly didn't work for you. It works WONDERS for me bella. I really love it. I wish it was cheaper, but then, I don't use anything else, just that, so I guess it works out for me price wise. Also, I only use natural products on my skin and in my hair so I guess that limits my options somewhat. I hope you find something that you love. Have a great weekend. P.S. your skin is FABULOUS! Black soap? I just started using it.
@BajanCutiee no black soap-- but it does work. i am currently using an olive oil based soap. i will switch back later. i ended up giving the botttle to some one who liked it. so i am happy. just curious what else do you use on your skin?
@localnorganic - Hi there. Tnx 4 writing. I sent you a private message with my reply because it'd be too long to fit here. Do stay in touch and have a great Sunday.
Ecco Styler work great for me. Big tub $5 at Sally's. IF you use a good leave-in underneath it, it will hold the moisture in your hair for days. 1 tub lasted me a good two months. so that like $30-36 a year! I love the look and get alot of compliments with a lot of other naturals asking who does my hair. Good luck!
Have you ever heard of Kimmaytube? and Beautifulbrnbabydol, also African Export. The are among my favorite natural hair youtubers I am subscribed to them, they are awesome when they talk about their experiences with hair & life in general.
I do not jump on bandwagons, even when I went natural 11yrs ago! I talk about what works for me, but that doesn't mean it will work for you. My bestfriend loves kccc but I haven't tried it. I will tell you though, if you are looking for a gel try eco-styler. It doesn't contain alcohol & it is either $1 or $2. kccc takes to long to dry in your hair and that turns me off. Much blessings!
Yes, I do understand...I don't purchase any of these products because even if they worked I know I would NOT re-purchase any of them because I am not willing to pay, in some cases up to $50 for 16 ounces of petrolium based products. And I understand too, that business are out to make money not lose money, but some of the prices are ridiculous to say the least...
I really agree with you. I think companies should provide small free sample sizes to consumers to try the products before buying. Most naturals are willing to spend good money on products that work so I think companies have to a bit more fair
smh! you should see philly diva's review on that gel!!!! she had the same opinion you did! I agree with you both! i have not tried that gel but i see (based on you tube reviews) the results are very different.... philly diva said eco styler gel work better & LET ME TELL YOU! eco styler ($2.00) works 100% better. it has great hold & it defines your curls better! try eco styler i think you'll like it
Hey LNO. This lady I saw at the grocery store had 4b hair and was rocking a fierce looking style which she had attained with KCCC. When she let me feel her hair, I was shocked to discover that it felt like a brick. I like Cantu Shea butter leave in conditioner, which I buy at Walmart for $5. Because I wear my hair in protective styles 99% of the time, I don't use it often. But when I want a well defined twistout, it does a marvelous job. Caution: applying too much can make your hair too firm.
I understand. I think that product works best on certain hair types. If you look at the owner's hair (like 3A or 3B) it looks like it works best for that hair type. I have "4A/b" hair but it works fine 4 me and I love it but it is just too expensive and I can get similar results with a different product. KKCC is just another bandwagon that is very old. The best thing to do is to just keep it simple and you will be amazed how much $ you save and how satisfying your local BSS products are
Try organic roots stimulator if you have not tried it yet. Their hair moisture lotion and lock and twist jell works wonderful for twists, braid and just as a moisturizer. It leaves the hair moisturized and it gives off a nice shine. Those are my styling products. 4 wash and go's I just use conditioner with a little gel and it comes out lovely. Hope you find what you are looking for and you look AMAZING!
honey you and I are looking for the same kind of products had the same problem with kinky curly custard but love the not 2 day conditioner and use it every day but i understand the problem with all this product some people push on youtube and i also believe what u said we don't need all those products ..thanks for sharing
I just want to say if there is any other products that you hate and want to give away. Please let me know. because i would like to try a lot of products out but they are sooooo expensive.
haha i totally have to agree with you n this!! kccc is wayyy too expensive,i mean does this gel change the texture of your hair?NO. so why spend 30 some odd dollars to try a hair gel?
I feel you sis!!! I just hope they have Small samples of every products so people can try and see if they like.i am natural my self and i share this with you its waisting money....Congrats to the winner.
It would be cool if companies would be willing to give out samples before buying their products. I personally like kinky curly thats what I use on my hair right now, but when I first bought their product I was really worried that I wouldn't like it and I would have spent all that money on something that I don't like. Thanks for making this vid, I know exactly what you're talking about. I hate taking risk with my money, I am not balling like that.....lol. :)
Great vid which clears the way for A Lot of debate. For me I put the blame squarely on the consummer. If you are willing to become susceptible to the suggestions of YTers reccomending random products and are willing to pay so much money for GEL that you can't afford that's on you. Why blame KKCC? There is also the other issue of the obsession with "Curl Definition" I think you started off right by keeping the regime SIMPLE and it doesn't have to be expensive.
Are you on facebook?? I would love to get to chat more with you, about hair and other topics...Thanks :-)
