Hey marquisdejolie, I use Sony Vegas for all of my video editing. I made the ads as still images with transparent backgrounds, you can do this in Photoshop or Fireworks or Gimp. Then imported them into Vegas and used Track Motion to make them slide onto the screen. =)

Yeah, I know how to do this in Photoshop using ImageReady and QuickTime's Image Sequence, but geeze, it's a LOT of work.

What I caught from it, since I was kind of busy playing with my dog... was that one of commentaries were saying how it was a stupid idea because one of the reasons youtube has became so popular is because people can watch TV without having to sit through commercials and then he also questioned if the youtube users were going to get paid for the ads that show up in their videos. More was said, but I didn't chance all of it.

Yes, the users whose videos the ads appear on will receive a portion of that ad revenue, the ads will only appear on select Partners' videos. At least, that's the deal right now, though YouTube might change that in the future.
