  • LOVE IT!!

  • Love that picture of Peter in the background.

  • Possibly my favourite R.E.M song. Saw them live back in 1985 playing a lot of the fables album. This song gets me deep. Reminds me of my first love (ha!) and my parents divorce which happened at the same time.

  • I won't deny myself we never talked...

  • so glad you posted this.

the "maybe you're not the problem" line always gets me.

  • right on man!! ive got this but worse quality. my favourite rem song for a long long time. thx!!

    still f*cks me up lol!!

  • The emotion of this song is overwhelming. This is feelings expressed through music, astonishing.

  • That's a good find. Good stuff...

  • One of my favorite songs of all time.

Nice to find a soundboard of it. There's a couple floating around, but they are few and far between.

Nice performance. Michael hitting the falsetto is always good.

I nearly shat myself when I heard they did it live in Dublin. He hits the notes there too, which is surprising considering the years of un-filtered nicotine and alcohol damage his vocal cords have likely sustained in the last three decades.

I'm glad the band has come around to appreciating.

  • I was at this show. Many years ago!

  • Cool! This is one of my favorite "unheralded" R.E.M. songs.

  • i love this song more on the album "Fables of the reconstruction" version, i listened to that album in 2000 and it reminds me nice things, above all this song! Thanks to have posted it

  • wow thanks...its very amazing...the earlie music of REM so interesant and beautiful

  • Incedible live recording! Great job. This is an important rock artifact you have here.

This song is SO RARE but was one of my favorites from the moment I heard it on my walkman on the schoolbus in 1985. Thanks for sharing it!

  • Punchier sound than on the album. REM was in great form during the Fables tour. THis song and the others off of Fables are incredible live: Life and How to Live it, Auctioneer,Can't Get There From Here, Driver 8 etc. Funny how it is considered their "moody" album, but the tour was anything but.

  • wow! this version sounds better and clearer than the album version.

it's my favorite song off of my favorite REM album, Fables of the Reconstruction.

    thanks!

  • I love this song! Could you post some more from that concert? thanks!

  • apples and oranges...

  • this was before the millions came and michael

    stipe lose his mind.

  • Michael lost his mind well before the millions came in. And thank God for that.

  • One of my top 5 favorite REM songs. Thank you for this!

  • for me this one along with:

    Country Feedback

    Green grow the rushes

    Driver 8

    E bow the letter

  • love this song

  • oh man, this is good. The lyrics are actually clearer here than on the cassette/cd. heh.

Thanks SO much, again. You're my hero.

  • thanks !

  • I can't believe that I acutally have this record in my basement. Great to hear it online. Thx.

  • I corrected the pitch since the lp was mastered too fast.

  • Lol, how ironic...I was listening to Kahoetek in my car yesterday. Great song.
