Possibly my favourite R.E.M song. Saw them live back in 1985 playing a lot of the fables album. This song gets me deep. Reminds me of my first love (ha!) and my parents divorce which happened at the same time.
Nice to find a soundboard of it. There's a couple floating around, but they are few and far between.
Nice performance. Michael hitting the falsetto is always good.
I nearly shat myself when I heard they did it live in Dublin. He hits the notes there too, which is surprising considering the years of un-filtered nicotine and alcohol damage his vocal cords have likely sustained in the last three decades.
I'm glad the band has come around to appreciating.
i love this song more on the album "Fables of the reconstruction" version, i listened to that album in 2000 and it reminds me nice things, above all this song! Thanks to have posted it
Punchier sound than on the album. REM was in great form during the Fables tour. THis song and the others off of Fables are incredible live: Life and How to Live it, Auctioneer,Can't Get There From Here, Driver 8 etc. Funny how it is considered their "moody" album, but the tour was anything but.
LOVE IT!!

Incedible live recording! Great job. This is an important rock artifact you have here.
This song is SO RARE but was one of my favorites from the moment I heard it on my walkman on the schoolbus in 1985. Thanks for sharing it!

I corrected the pitch since the lp was mastered too fast.
