@Alacress to be honest, som is one game u would rather play on the snes console. because when u play on the emulator the soundtrack messes up everytime u swing ur sword, using menu, running etc.

@FuckDaMedia Well, it's been a long time, but back when I played it on the zsnes I didn't have any sound issues with it. It worked pretty flawlessly from what I recall.

There's several different emulators you can try, each with their own settings and plugins, and I would assume one of them would work correctly.

I love how Thanatos can just sink into the ground and creep up on your characters that are controlled by incredibly stupid AI and then grab them with his giant bony lich hands and fucking squeeze the life out of them while they're powerless to do anything.

By "love", I mean, "I will probably have fucking nightmares tonight just thinking about Dark Lich coming in my bedroom and doing his creepy lich-hands routine and choking the life out of me and stealing my body and OH FUCK".

The actual final boss of the game wasn't nor Thanatos neither the Mana Dragon, it was Thantos final boss theme because I really had to fight the battle of my life, my hand's have been struggling to lay the gamepad down and my entire body wanted to groove to that genious beat instead of figting Thanatos

Thanathos, the Dark Lich... Awesome music and an interesting battle to boot, this is one memorable boss. Though S.o.M. has a non-antagonist final boss battle right after him, Thanatos or de Duistere Magiër (as he was called in Dutch game mags, that translates into the Dark Magician by the way) was a main antagonist to remember and if they hadn't toned his abilities down to keep the game beatable he'd be a prime final boss.

In that scene you're asking about, it plays 3 different songs while you click through the dialogue. First is "Spirit of the night". Then it briefly plays the "Danger boss theme". Last (and longest) to play is "Fond memories". You'll find them all on youtube.

@KainDarkfire I never did any tricks or cheats on Secret of Mana. I was on level 85 when I fought Thanatos. The best trick to use is to spam Shadow Magic. If you do that, then Thanatos CANNOT MOVE for the entire battle! He remains stationary while getting his ass beat! Use Shadow with Sprite and once the spell is cast, quickly open up the menu again and use that same spell and have the girl use MP refilling items at the same time. You could be on level 50 and beat this guy's ass!

high mp. he has a lot attacks at his disposel. really thanatos should have been the last boss. the mana beast was a push-over. 2-3 attacks heal, i hit for 999 dmg. the most deadly of thanatos's attack is when he is the floor. stay awawy from his hands or u will die. does high damage and knocks any party member out. so he just does tthe attack again and yeah ur dead after 2 attacks.

heh, I never used magic when I played this game, and it was quite epic when my teamates died and it was 1v1 with my sword guy against Dark Lich. charge that level 8 sword up and hit once the head pops up!
