@SimonB198207 They usually do split a cartoon into two parts, I think as memory serves it aired either as the first cartoon around 9.15-ish or at 10.15-ish. I admit when I was younger I only saw it on Going Live only a couple of times, but yeah they often would show cartoon shows about a quarter or half the way through the programme. :) Happy New Year to you too. :)

The song had a full version recorded as that and the other songs used for this show were made by a professional songwriter, who also created the show..The full length version was released on an album and single, both of which sold poorily due to very little promotion.

damn i got to here from one of my frriends on here favoriting the artist that sang this, and found this. a shame this cartoon wasnt released in the US, i would have watched it back then!
@TeslaDRay It was, but it wasen't well recieved. The 1st season was out on VHS in the states and the show was aired on the Disney Channel. The specials were also aired on local TV. Unfortunatily, the show never made much of an impact in the US. You can however get the 1st and 2nd seasons on Netflix and the 1st on iTunes.

@staticmunk7777 Thank you for agreeing with me about that Hobo movie. Who knows if anymore Raccoons episodes will come out on DVD as Kevin Gillis has dissapeared after he sold out his own song to those film makers. The only seasons avaliable in English on DVD are Seasons 1 and 2 and only in Region 2 PAL format. You can get Season 1 on iTunes and 1 and 2 on Netflix, but still a lot more could have been done. You may get lucky by looking at the newraccoons group on Yahoo Groups for episodes.
I thought this already was on dvd. I can understand the frustration fans of the show have. But don't be too hard on Hobo (no point slating dumb commentots on YT, that's always gonna happen) the song is strangely fitting to to scene. And, in the commentary, the director and producer state they're fans of the show and wanted the i end credits song from such an iconic Canadian cartoon. So their use of the song comes from a sincere place, I feel

The Canadians obviously failed to notice it on Teletoon Retro and it was being repeated here in the UK, when our DVD's came out. True in North America, Season 1 is on iTunes and Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix, but that is not good enough! We got scrwwed out of a good thing, because the creator just dropped everything for cash.

@chandrandev9 Sadily Kevin Gillis (The Raccoons creator and writer of the song) sold out his song to a group of Canadian film makers to be used in the film Hobo With a Shotgun, a film that's the total polar opposite of he Raccoons. As for the whole Oprah Winfrey thing, it does say that on Wikipedia, but persoanlly I don't know wearever or not that is true!
Do you know much about Lisa who sang the theme from the Racoons David. When I listen to her sing her style sounds so familiar to Cyndi Lauper. I guess it was a pop song really suited to the 80s. I used to watch Racoons every Saturday morning on BBC.
@roadrunner1ification She has a Facebook page, however from what I heard (from reliable sources I know), Lisa threatened to close her account on there since certain Raccoons fans wanted to get 'close to her'. Judging by that, she probably has had some bad experiences with this show and would rather avoid talking about this part of her career, pity really, but then it wasen't a bed of roses working on this show from what I heard. :(

lol the girl racoon reminds me of courtney cox and the pink girl reminds me of katy perry... am i mad or what? used to love this cartoon. big time naustalgia. when ever i hear that song the first thing i think of is the raccoons. memories lol!

@David315842 me and my sister used to love this cartoon when we were kids. i've just bought it on dvd for my son who is 6 and he thinks its great. the old cartoons are so much better than what they have today. he also likes super ted lol

damn i got to here from one of my frriends on here favoriting the artist that sang this, and found this. a shame this cartoon wasnt released in the US, i would have watched it back then!

@TeslaDRay It was, but it wasen't well recieved. The 1st season was out on VHS in the states and the show was aired on the Disney Channel. The specials were also aired on local TV. Unfortunatily, the show never made much of an impact in the US. You can however get the 1st and 2nd seasons on Netflix and the 1st on iTunes.

and yes i plan one day to getting all fo the raccoons on dvd the hobo movie wasnt all that great just another shoot em up with a song rip at the end i wonder what they will use in hobo 2 the super mario theme song for the end credits but anyways thank you again for posting this im a life long fan of the raccoons i miss the 80's here soo much and finding this on youtube is a treasure to beheld thank you again.

@staticmunk7777 Thank you for agreeing with me about that Hobo movie. Who knows if anymore Raccoons episodes will come out on DVD as Kevin Gillis has dissapeared after he sold out his own song to those film makers. The only seasons avaliable in English on DVD are Seasons 1 and 2 and only in Region 2 PAL format. You can get Season 1 on iTunes and 1 and 2 on Netflix, but still a lot more could have been done. You may get lucky by looking at the newraccoons group on Yahoo Groups for episodes.

I thought this already was on dvd. I can understand the frustration fans of the show have. But don't be too hard on Hobo (no point slating dumb commentots on YT, that's always gonna happen) the song is strangely fitting to to scene. And, in the commentary, the director and producer state they're fans of the show and wanted the i end credits song from such an iconic Canadian cartoon. So their use of the song comes from a sincere place, I feel

@LiamTheGreat I don't agree with that in the slightest I'm afraid! A perfectily good cartoon is now soiled by these amateur filmakers and the Raccoons' creators greed! If you notice it is out on DVD, but only in the UK, as far as English releases go and only 2 out of the 5 seasons have been distributed, that and the specials haven't been released either! We raccoons fans deserve better then this and I just feel sorry for any Hobo fan that feels differentily. End of story.

@LiamTheGreat The show could have had it's DVD release without Hobo With A Shotgun! The Canadians obviously failed to notice it on Teletoon Retro and it was being repeated here in the UK, when our DVD's came out. True in North America, Season 1 is on iTunes and Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix, but that is not good enough! We got scrwwed out of a good thing, because the creator just dropped everything for cash.

I found these videos sung by Lisa Lougheed. One for the raccoons and other for hobbos with shotgun.

both songs are on youtube.
In both videos the shooting that she did were the same but the sceense where the raccoos are in were replaced with the hobbos with shotguns.
Personally i prefer the racoons song.
She also song the oprah winfrie show theam song. have a look

@chandrandev9 Sadily Kevin Gillis (The Raccoons creator and writer of the song) sold out his song to a group of Canadian film makers to be used in the film Hobo With a Shotgun, a film that's the total polar opposite of he Raccoons. As for the whole Oprah Winfrey thing, it does say that on Wikipedia, but persoanlly I don't know wearever or not that is true!

Do you know much about Lisa who sang the theme from the Racoons David. When I listen to her sing her style sounds so familiar to Cyndi Lauper. I guess it was a pop song really suited to the 80s. I used to watch Racoons every Saturday morning on BBC.

@roadrunner1ification She has a Facebook page, however from what I heard (from reliable sources I know), Lisa threatened to close her account on there since certain Raccoons fans wanted to get 'close to her'. Judging by that, she probably has had some bad experiences with this show and would rather avoid talking about this part of her career, pity really, but then it wasen't a bed of roses working on this show from what I heard. :(

There's no point typing anything in Spanish as not many people will understand what you're saying! It's simple, use common sense, which is something that the internet seems to be lacking, the ability to use common sense.

I pray for the good old days where people (in English of course) would write about how they used to watch and like this show. Now it seems those days are gone. :(
