Well.. Well.. Well.. Having been a carer, a nurse, a deputy and a manager in care homes over the last 23 years I can say only this.. BULLSHIT!!! The Care Commission have made Care Homes What I wanted them to be 23 years ago... Places where the people who live there make the decisions about how they live their lifes.. and where we as staff turn up to support them to do that.. Giving extra help for the cognitively impaired to get their say.. you are so wrong here.. you are so "institutionalised".
Mark....spot on mate....I work in the industry but there are shit homes....and shit nurses..and carers.....but you're right the CC are getting it all wrong......they should have greater powers but the gov are scared cos the obvious would cost them
As a "Care Professional" here in the states, "Carers" are buried under irrelevant "care" paperwork such that they can't provide CARE - they're too busy filling out "care paperwork!" I'm with you on this! Do you think it might be an international conspiracy to drive "care professionals" from the field so the insurance companies can save money on providing care services? I mean, after all, get rid of those "carers" and you won't have to provide those services!
So the same shit is going on over there too! what is the world comming to, we are in danger of missing out on the only things that matter , love and respect for other humans, there is not a form to cover that! thanks for your comment!
Yes its dear to my heart, you would not believe some of the things i have seen and when you complain you dont just get short shift from the CC but you live in fear of what reprisals happen to your loved ones when your not there,,,
Gosh this is a serious one! You're probably right. My husband works partime for the council as a driver and is not a qualified carer but he often has to look after brain injured people while the qualified staff spend all day in the office doing paperwork.
