  • I just finished reading the Watchmen. It is the first graphic novel I've read. To be honest, I didn't like it at all for the first half. But the ending was so awesome that I ended up loving it. I can't wait to see the movie.

PS. Star Wars ||| is my favorite.

Sometimes I think the majority of Star Wars fans prefer 4,5,6 just because they are the originals. 3 isn't my favorite because of the effects, I love it because of Anakin's transformations to the Dark Side. It is my favorite aspect of SW.

  • I was looking for a thought provoking plot married to action, but since it was just llike the novel that I didn't read I thought it was a situation of dull story + dull movie equals dissapointment. I like dark stories, but I just think this one isn't dark and alive. Can you tell me what happens at the end of the book?

  • what the fuck are you smoking

  • I'll admit the movie didn't live up to the hype but overall I have to concede that it was a worthy attempt for just 2.75 hours - Malin sucked as Silk Spectre and Goode has probably done the most boring villian of all time lol - i guess another gripe for me was the choice of soundtracks - I would have used different music to set the mood or compliment the scenes (except for that piece by Phillip Glass)

  • I fully agree that the movie wasn't as good as the book... but honestly, how could we have expected it to be? With a book like Watchmen, it would just be impossible. Plot wise, the movie stayed very true to the book. The actors portrayed the characters well. The general gist of the story and themes was kept intact. Compared to other movies-from-books I've seen, it was wonderful.

  • this was the frikin best movie ever

  • I got exactly what I expected. To fully flesh out the graphic novel would have taken at least twice as much time. Not very practicle. I have not read the novel, but I just picked it up on the way home from work. Can't wait to start the read. But, I was not left wondering who any one was, because I watched the opening credits that had lots of background info, if you read the new blips and such. Also all the flashbacks filled int he rest. Was it as much as the book, no. But it left no holes

  • If your review for a movie is longer than 30 seconds, you have lost all validity. 1'd

  • wow without naming all of the stuff they messed up on in the film, that was spot on, as a fan of the graphic novel i was thoroughly disappointed with the movie, i drove 2 hours to the nearest imax just to see this movie, and the drive was more interest than this movie, biggest let down of 2009 calling it right now

  • the movie sucks

i agree with these guys 100%

  • again....read your comments...everybody think u guys are idiots....u odnt understand how hard to adapt a movie for a novel like this one....

  • you guys are idiots...that's the best they can do to squeeze in a 2hr 40 min movie...u cant expect everything to be in there....hard core fan like u shouldn't even bother seeing the movie if u expect pefection....freakin idiots..

  • Love the book

    Love the movie

Books are never as good as the movie.

But this movie got the main points and didn't downgrade anything...

Your review sucks...cause the everyone knows all this....

And my movie didn't have superman at the end :(

  • yours didnt have superman?? mine did!! where did you see it? :(

  • Thanks for a truthful review.

  • Movie rocked and no superman after credits

  • BS i just saw the movie you couldnt want more dude shut the fuck up

  • good review. while i don't agree with everyone you said, i'm not gonna attack ya for it. i didn't got into the film expect citizen cane (or oscar worth material). yes, i've read the graphic novel, and it was fantastic. i went into with with a, lets see it brought to life kind of attitude. the ending was the only questionable part for

  • I watched it yesterday. I didn't see the ending credits because I needed to go to the can. I give it an 8/10 because I've read the graphic novel already. But I do think it was a difficult adaption at best.

  • you guys are not very intelligent

  • All I can say is, one, my name is dillon and the fact someone with that name just commented is kind of creeping me the hell out... Also, all i can say is Zack Snyder actually wanted the movie 3 and half hours long, and the "super freaky extended director's cut" includes all the cut scenes, including black freighter, and other missing character deaths etc. so no worries bud, I liked the movie and im excited for the extended cut.

  • you guys are fucking tools.

  • Good thing you guys found eachother. You guys are real winners. I bet your breath smells like eachothers cocks.

  • C'mon what can you expect guys! they can't go in to detail about every characters back story....they would have had to make a 6 hr movie. And honestly who would sit in a theater for that long. They go into the back story of the characters whom are the most crucial to the story. And guys, just incase you didn't notice it is a move it had to have some sort of cinematic element to it. And as for your bitching about CGI OMFG. That's all I can really say.

  • ...fake..

  • Wow....u guys must of thought of this idea and planned for it the whole day....it was so obvious when you both mentioned how the special effects were good that it was fake as you both had a smirk on your face...plus the back story of the characters bit....how the hell do u think he can put that in...this is why people say read the comic because u'll know more and thus enjoy the film better..the superman part was retarded as well....information about the film would of reach to the internet first

  • This review is totally FAKE!!!!!!!!

  • the early screening was on Feb.23 THIS IS FAKE!!!!!

  • kid on the left...what a fag...i hate u if u enjoyed the star wars prequels...jeez...why didnt u just stay home and jerk off like u usually do...and kid on the right...the kid on the left just called...he wants his shitty hair cut back...

  • You toss out insults like that all the time, but what about you? Isn't it kind of sad that you just sit at home, insulting other people behind the veil of internet anonymity? I don't think that this review is that great, but why so harsh to people you don't even know, and will never meet? Besides, you chose to watch their video, so you should at the very least be respectful.

  • CARROT FUCKING CAAAAKE

  • watchmen fans can't deal with criticism even though they have no idea whether the film is good or bad.

  • This is a true review of snydes shitty movie. OFFICIALLY WATCHMEN MOVIE SUCKS A BIG COCK!!!

  • wow u should be vanished from the face of the world (cummonass) for saying that

  • I appreciate the heads up guys.

Hopefully i'll like it better than you guys, but who knows.

  • these napolean dynamite lookin mother f**kers

just read some shit the internet

    FAKE REVIEW

  • what a couple of faggots. They clearly have never seen a pussy.

  • this is a fake review, listen to blunty3000 review he has proof that he watch it

  • the most recent screening was in like mid-late 2008.

  • How did you two bozos get to see an advanced screening. Have you seen the watchmen trailer that was recut with futurama footage? I think it was called Watcharama...

  • Kissing the comic book ! That's what I like to see! Good review.

  • I like your condescending smile you little dispshit on the left. That little analogy with Star Wars was absolutely pathetic. Is that was far as your cinema knowledge goes? Watchmen is undoubtedly as deep a story you'll ever read, so maybe you should refrain for knocking people on their tastes.

  • this is a great fake review

    kudos on keeping straight faces

  • You guys DID NOT SEE THE MOVIE.

You show your hand with the "Man of Steel" bs, especially since that film isn't even in production yet.

  • i.m a fan of the squid i wanted a kick ass psychodelic interdimensional squid to freak the fuck out of my friends when we went ot see it ,but now with no squid the story has lost all of its relavence ,a very angry comic nerd miike

  • The squid was not the point of the novel. In fact, the character studies matter far more than the entire ending.

But even with no squid, Snyder has kept the spirit of the ending.

  • yeah but its one hell of and ending and the reason all the artists and scientists dissappearing in the comic ,if zak snyder thinks he can miss out such a vital part of the plot i fear what other liberties he may take ,t.b.h. zak snyder really messed up with dawn of the dead aswell, but the creation of the squid to fool the public into world peace for me is integral to the plot of the comic ,plus would have been cool to see it on screen

  • Crap 'review'.......

  • This is FAKE. they didnt watch the movie, i can tell u.

  • This is DEFINITELY fake

  • younger guys who prefer epis 4-6 of the star wars trilogy over 1-3?

i wonder if they are my bastard children

  • I'll bet that none of you have ever even read the damned thing, or have even actually seen the film, the way you prattle on about details that are already old news.

  • I'm not sure I get your guys comment "we don't get backstory for these characters, they are just thrown in on us."

That's...kind of how the GN worked. It threw characters at you, and then LATER developed them. So...I'm not sure what you're saying here.

Also, Snyder was forced to cut 35min from the film, so his director's cut is most likely better.

  • oh and if ur wondering I got into the premiere because I know a lady who worked on the project :) and if you guys really saw the advanced screening then what was the new ending?

  • hey guys I too had the privilege of going to an advanced screening as well... I read the graphic novel three times and I highly disagree with your review. I very very much enjoyed the movie and if you didnt notice they pretty much took the graphic novel and took the exact dialogue out of it and made it into the script. Also many actual panels from the graphic novel looked exactly the same as they were in the novel Please dont be discouraged by them check out my video on this and go see the movie

  • Informative. Thank you very much.

  • O.k. first of all....I think they except people to know who they are when they show them in th emovie and I am pretty sure people are able to pick up what they were like and if not no they should buy the book second, don't tell me that it is not living up to the book because have high hopes for it

  • mmmm. That really wasnt a review guys, you just said what we all already knew, there was no way any movie was ever going to come close to the greatness of the comic..you should have taken it as a movie first and foremost. I loved the LOTR movies but if i compared them to the book they would fall waaaay short..and not a word about the performances? cmon guys, back to critic school with you!

  • They don't appear to be jocks, or at least not dumb jocks, (I was a jock at one point), My main angle of attack on them would be that college kids that live in dorms are pretentious little &#$@'s that often like to do whatever they can to justify what mommy and daddy handed them on a silver platter in life, or counterbalance psychologically the fact that they can't get laid by promoting their intellectual credentials. (hoping I'm right about you, rather you suck than the movie)

  • i'm having trouble believing you. how did you manage to get such an advance screening and bypass the agreement that no reviews are to be posted outside of the opening week? As well as that you seem to venture no where into the film, funny that you say the film you saw had no character detail because you don't seem to go into ANY detail regarding the film's characters. Usual reviews include acting, story, and of course THE MOVIE. Special effects can be garnered from the trailers themselves.

  • that's exactly what i was thinking when i saw some sneak peek scenes.....and just watching them...i just thought, this movie isn't as good as I thought......but nothing can really top the graphic novel...unless they just used the graphic novel as the script...i mean i'd totally go with that.....oh and thanks for the little superman tidbit at the end i always wanted to know if there was a secret ending....

  • Ok when you said that the movie didn't stand up to the graphic novel, I'm not surprsied, this movie was never going to match to the graphic novel, and that's not say it would be bad movie. V for Vendetta was obviously conisdered not to stand up to the graphic novel, but it was still a good movie. What I want to know how it is as a movie on its own. if you scrutinize it against the book, it's not gonna live up, but do you think it was a good movie in it's own right?

  • You didn't really review the movie...just said "the book is better"... Which was always the case from the beginning.

  • bang-up review, guys. brilliant work. i can tell you really know your stuff....I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

  • Of course it doesn't match up with the GN. The movie would have to be at least a few more hours to do that.

  • shut the fuck up u whinney little bitches, trying to be film critics. propa annoying.

  • What was that about a Superman announcement? Could you give more details on this please?

  • Bad review in my opinion. You didn't really go into detail on many of the things. I personally am not looking for a direct translation of the graphic novel into film. I am looking for a film that is enjoyable. Also there have been reviews that have said the oposite of what you guys are saying, that there is a lot of talk but not enough action. Usualy when that happens its safe to say that there is an equal balance. Finally, fans don't do good reviews. They just do random rants that mean nothing.

  • Funny, most of the reviews I've seen have said it's incredibly faithful to the graphic novel and if it has a problem it is that it is kinda boring because there isn't enough action. You say it's just the opposite. Could you please explain this more? In what way do you feel it is not faithful? What was left out that should have been included?

  • ok review but we have to remember to theres a missing hour or so of stuff they left out the black frieghter integration and the two bernies at the news stand. the reason for this two hour and 45 minute watchmen is because non comic reading movie goers would not sit through a 3 hour and 25 minute film. and we will get more explanation of the ending change in the dvd

  • wtf superman? lol

  • well, keep in mind tho its long its still cut down. snyder said that if he were to be completely faithful to the book the movie would be 5 hours.

Also, watchmen isnt supposed to let you know about the characters complete back stories at the beginning. hell half the story is talking about their backstories!! lol its a great story because of this. your opinions change as you learn more about the past. The best example of this is the Comedian. tho you hate him, at times yu do feel bad for him too

  • i really hope synder doesn't butcher the graphic novel. but thanks for the review guys.

  • Thanx for the review, sorry to hear it tho! Keep it up!
