@sphinxofthenewage This is Infiniti's Midsized sedan, it competes with the BMW 5 series, Lexus GS, Audi A6 and Mercedes E-class. Its the same size as all its rivals.
@alexthepirate That is incorrect. The Z and the M use the same platform, though it is highly modified for sedan duty. The Maxima uses the platform form the Murano and the Nissan Atlima, called the 'D' platform- a stout one in its own right but, being FWD, not one for premium flagship duty. The M has more in common with the GT-R than the with the Maxima.

The new M should might as well stand for Maxima! I've owned the 2004 G35 coupe and the more recent G35 sedan but when my lease ends in a few months, I will consider a different brand to step up to.
Sorry Infiniti, this looks way too much like a Maxima!
I hope that the piano black trim is available in the US. So far all the official pictures for the states have featured the very nice silver wood trim. However, options are nice. I also wonder if they will continue to offer aluminum trim as in the G and outgoing M.

Also, who says to themselves 'What I want is a grey plastic interior'. I mean, who? So why do virtually all manufacturers do it? Grey is the colour of profound, give up on life, card carrying loser clinical depression.
I've heard it looks better in the metal than it does in photos, which is good as it looks generic Jap/American bulbous styling to me, not a good look at all.
I just bought an M37s and LOVE IT!

indeed, the interior is way more classy than the initial "silver powder" thing. Well done infiniti

"Earnshawful" sounds pretty immature. It sounds like he's very depressed and hates his own life. :(
The car looks good.

I didn't like it in the debut but this now looks great. Still engine options are still not as flexible as german rivals.
