The theme was done by Tangerine Dream, so you're close. Cheesy? No way, if I did a remake of this show, it would be a slightly modernized version of this theme, and only slightly modernized.

I can remember all my friends and I loving this show. I think it was asking too much suspension of disbelief (it U-Turns at 300 mph???) of the adults, and that's what did it in.

Awesome opening, i was so exited with that rumour of a movie or remake for this year, too bad it was just that, a rumour. Anyway i think this show deserves a remake, it has so much potential but that is unlikely to happen :(
