  • where's the Mujahideen when you need em?

  • @dialchemy back in time cold war era ...

  • @dialchemy back in time cold war era ... fighting russians

  • As an Afghan, for me Taliban are nothing but a bunch of dark minded peasants who know nothing about the world and Islam..They are easily misused by Pakistan as a political tool to pursue its own interest in Afghanistan. Afghans are peace loving people and we have always been the victim of our Pakistani intelligence service ISI.

  • i see some gurkhas as well!! proud to be one!! =]

  • @00kizuna00 I LIKE THEM TO THEY TAST NICE IN BIG MACKS

  • Remember Margaret Thatcher years of social injustice.

    NEVER EVER VOTE TORY.

    VOTE LABOUR !!!

  • I HATE CAMERON! PASS IT ON

  • @david38823 naaa

  • wanker, he's for the "war on terror" in afghanistan toom, same old same old, bunch of cunts.

  • @slantyrock it wount matter who was voted we have to be there

  • you wanna convince some voters who still remember the iraq war well that you might be more understandable then labour about foreign policey

please sack that multiple hypocrite liam fox, youtube is riddle with his statments about his hawkish support for blair and browns defense policies

  • Somebody should have tipped off the taliban as to Camerons location.

Using the war as a political soapbox.tut,tut.

Cameron is full of shit, upper class, out of touch arsehole

  • Four visits without being shot?

  • Can't stand Cameron.Cameron= Blair= liar and political opportunist, and war monger.Shameful that he supported the Iraq war which cost British and Iraqi lives, our economy and credibility in the world. Shameful that he being a millionaire still ripped off tax payers in the expenses scadle.Shameful that he mislead the public and even his own party on an EU referendum to win votes of Euro sceptics. They talk about poverty, but advocate tax cuts for millionaire inheritance.

    Liberal Democrat 2010

  • trip paid by the tax payer?

  • Although the tax payer would have footed the bill, the cost would have been very low. The tristars that transport troops out there are travelling anyway, and all of the chinook runs that cameron took into helmand were already going, transporting troops around Afghan. The media teams are already out there, and private security is already out there in case of VIP visits

  • David Cameron is going to be a breath of fresh air and is listening to what we need, after 10 years of being sold down the river by Blair and followed by a weak, insipid Brown and his cabinet who have all ripped us of, just like Blair who never had WHAT WAS BEST FOR BRITAIN in his Agenda it was always what was best for ME. This is a good video and shows David as a caring compassionate person who will put GREAT BRITAIN first.

  • no real justification or reasoning for the war here. At all.

  • @majoono apart from al kieeda taliban oil terrorists....

  • As a previous Labour Voter I hope and pray that Cameron is voted in as the next PM of our Great Nation. Brown has damaged this country and is totally weak. We need a young Strong PM. America finally has it right after many years. I hope that we in the UK see the way forward and give this man a chance to be a great PM who plays a very active role for all social classes of our great nation. No matter our weath or education we are One People, One Nations of Many Nations. Together we can do it!

  • @gatewayapartments

Agreed. Cameron will make a good PM and he is working very hard for everyone. I like what he is doing and that he is not right wing. He is a decent chap and we could do alot worse ie. what is in at the moment is a total shambles, let's face it !

  • We need a new Maggie!

  • Catholic state? Great Britain was once a confident Protestant state. Tolerant of it's Catholics and Jewish population, but fiercely independent and Protestant. Remember the last Catholic king was beheaded by the House of Commons for treason.

Cameron is no Oliver Cromwell. But he is a start towards hopefully the right direction.

  • Our humanity is stronger than all your weaponary.

    Peace

  • Another minion of the New World Order elite attaches his puppet stings ." Time for change, bla bla bla "

  • Hes got my vote!

  • Stay to finish the job! We cannot back out and leave the afghans to be ruled by the Taliban, we don't know what they might do to that country. Fight the gd fight.

  • Western secular governments are only against Islamic terrorism - they are NOT against peaceful demographic takeover by Islam! In fact they are aiding it!

Only a CATHOLIC STATE will resist your demographic wipeout and Islamisation - brought to you by incompetent secular governance! You get more than you bargained for from a secular government - watch out!!

  • I would rather live in nihilistic anarchy than a catholic state.

  • He clearly states he is not creating a time table for withdraw. so he does not intend to take British troops out of Afghan is he gets elected.

  • a war we sould not be in but we cant leave a job half done dont vote consvertive as librel will get us out quiker and better sevcise for are trups

  • This is why I am certain that David Cameron is the man to lead our country. A few days after DC had left, Gordon Brown had decided to make a 'surprise' trip to Afghanistan.

On a lighter note, doesn't David look considerably cooler in the gear than Brown!

  • David Cameron comes across as a sincere decent guy far better then the zanulab scum we have had for the last 12 years.

Fighting a guerilla war in a civilian area where the enemy can simply cross a border and rest and resupply has been proven to be an impossible task.

Since many of the fighters are $10/day combatants it would be cheaper in so many ways to pay them not to fight us or even fight for us. Just like we have done there before:-)

  • Cameron

Need's to bring them back, we cannot sort out all the worlds problems, and thr terrrrorism is funded by another country anyway!!!!!!!

  • "to find the future , you need to look in the past".

    1st. Re-Educate Children

    2nd Build the Afhan Army

3rd. mental test each member of the Afgan atmy.

4th. Build an Undercover Gorllia force of the public (selected only).

If the insurgents did get through the afgan army. There would be an Undercover Gorliia force...

No one would suspect a Women is have a colt revlolver in her bag.

This was used as a Back up plan in WW2 For the UK.

  • Cameron is the right one :)

  • nice to see somewhere in the world that has abit of sun , think ill go there next year for my holiday, do they have beaches?

  • LEGALIZE POPPIES!

  • This War has a simple solution.

•Re-Educate Children They have been Brain Washed into Hating the British army

•Build a Gorilla Force under the political background of afgan army , just because

If they the terrorists did get back into the towns and cities. The Afghan people have their own army and gorilla force. This will drive out the terrorists for good.

  • Hmm... create an army of gorillas? Interesting point, but I'm not sure who will win out of that fight - a 300lb ape vs a Taliban suicide bomber... Nevertheless, an interesting POV. Well done.

  • Yo, and Dave - what about Pakistan? That's where the battle is going to be won and lost big man. What about Quetta? Come on chaps, cut the resupply line and that will allow you to effectively cut the Afghan Talibs head off.

  • My problem is, what is the strategy? The Taliban do not walk around with badges saying who they are - and like Vietnam - guerilla wars cannot be won. I get the feeling we are under obligation from the US, if this the case, then operations should be more covert, and more use of airbourne transport should be made available - to avoid uneccessary death and injuries.Gordon Brown has committed Chinooks for 2013, when telling Parliament that troops were leaving in 2011?

  • My mates in the military, much prefer Cameron than the idiot Brown

  • With respect....7/7 were Asians born in Britain or Pakistan to my knowledge (not Afghanistan) and 7/11 was in the US - not Britain - and was carried out by nationals from Saudi Arabia - an ally of America. Tony Blair went blindly into Afghanistan and ignored all the lessons of history. If I was a soldier I would not want this Labour Government deciding my destiny, need I say more. Afghanistan is largely lawless and tribal and we cannot impose our values on them, nor should we try.

  • @viddid

More British people died in 9/11 and yes true the bombers were ALL of British origin but they were trained, supplied and mentored by terrorists in the tribal border areas of Afghanistan/Pakistan.

The 'lessons of history' is frankly bullshit. The Russians lost because they sent thousands of poorly trained, under equipped, ideologically mad Russian conscripts into Afghanistan. And 100 years ago we didn't have satellite weoponary and fighter jets. I hate that argument.

  • Hi, you are very unwise to just dismiss 'the lessons of history'. Labour has a contempt for the past and that is largely why they have been such a complete catastrophe for this country. Both the Victorians and the Russians were unable to administer Afghanistan - the landscape and the tribal system make control almost impossible. All the technology in the world cannot beat boots on the ground and that exposes our troops to even more danger. I think we are pursuing a strategy that will fail.

  • For a start, I am a Conservative. And your comment is highly ignorant. I have studied these conflicts over and over at 3 different universities and I am currently writing a thesis on the evolution of war since the late 1880s directly dealing with Afghanistan. Further more I am a Captain in the TA so I hear off the lads whats going on so keep a close interest.

The real threat to our troops isnt the IEDs. What the media reports as 'hostile fire' is infact 'indirect fire' from old russian mines.

  • I don't mind what party you support and whatever your academic qualifications are also don't concern me - I am also a graduate incidentally. You are entitled to your opinion as I am mine, and you have said nothing which makes me reconsider my view. I still maintain you are unwise to dismiss histories lessons in Afghanistan. However for the sake of our troops I hope you are right, but I fear you are not. IEDs are what I'd fear most if I were a soldier in Afghanistan.

  • @viddid And don't be fooled. the mission isn't 'imposing our values' or 'the huminatarian mission' those are nice words thought up by NATO to cover the real reason. To destroy, disrupt and take apart the middle eastern terrorist network which is centered in the Tribal areas and lawless areas of Southern Helmand, whilst also destroying the deadly drug trade. Democracy and better way of live is simply secondary objectives, that would be brilliant if we could fulfill but we won't be able to.

  • The soldiers are great, real heros because they have to try and make your (politicians) stupid ill concieved adventures work. The soldiers die while you lot ride around with vip police escorts in London!!! What are you afraid of? So old lady who wants a better pension! You politicians are all self serving arseholes.

Keep up the good work David.

The only problem I see is you will be the same as all the pm's who went before you! Tough oin spin :) weak on substance. Big on BS & DUCK HOUSES!

  • You lot dont have the common sence to tell everyone the game is up. Talk to the Rusians they will tell you how close you lot are to getting your back sides kicked you are!

The soldiers are great, real heros

  • @arsezania You cannot compare the two.

Russian conscript with 2 months of training, no satellite warfare, basic air force, basic weaponary and equipment compared to a multi national force with more troops on the ground, state of the art technology and extremely high levels of training.

I hate that arguement so much, especially comparing the war in 1880s to the current war. Its such a stupid arguement, no offence meant at all mate though.

  • You have a valid poiint regarding the conscripts. I still dont honestly believe what is happening there is anything more than a face saving measure for the political class. Afganistan will not be won. Not because the soldiers are not up to the job but because they are not wanted by the afgans. Lets not argue over it. Simply wait a few years then see who is correct. I say a quick honerable exit is the game they are playing now. Which leaves pakistan and the borders in a real dangerous mess!

  • @arsezania Afghanistan cannot be won, its the same situation as Northern Ireland. No surrender. Stay until we wear them out. It will cost hundreds of more lifes across the world but the moment we withdraw...I will bet my house on it...there will be a massive whiplash from the extremists. I can nearly 99% garuntee that would happen, all the real experts say it, ignore politicians who use it as a potential political game card.

  • Cont. -

and abandoning the Afghan people much like what we did in Iraq after the first gulf war. An extremely bloody civil war will ensue and thousands upon thousands of people will die. Not only that, the Taliban will defintely take over the country and with the resources it has built up through its private companies across the world and the vengeance they feel through the humialating war in 2001..they will, I assure you, not rest until we are seeing school children in body bags. Like they do

  • To the people urging that we bring back the troops -

I am from a primarily military/medical family, although I have broken the trend with a career in the Police Force. However my family is firmly behind the conflict in Afghanistan. One must remember the real reason why we are there, unlike Iraq, Afghanistan is a serious threat. Remember 7/11 and 7/7 both were masterminded by Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. If we withdraw now, and surrender, we are only giving in to the terrorists

  • You said "Remember 7/11 and 7/7 both were masterminded by Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan"

How can we ever forget any act of Terrorism however it may be justified.

So why does a statue of a convicted terrorist get erected outside our Parliament in westminster. A terrorist should never be honoured inocent civilians died for no reason other than a selfish desire to make a point. What if it was your mother or brother or friend exploded by a terrorists bombs Mandela is a terrorist. Remove that statue

  • @arsezania Complete difference to someone who fights for political, social and economic equality for a suppressed race of people. Killed, beaten up and vilified simply for being Black. Horrible to try and compare the ANC to Al-Qaeda who intend to kill our children and instill their values of violence upon our families, whilst destroying one of the most peaceful and ancient religions that is Islam.

Mandela did wrong to take the fight onto the streets, but what he has done politically is good.

  • You are an ignorant fool!

I am sure you mean good but try and learn more about what exactly the anc and your black god mandela have actually done in sa since they took over. Murder, corruption, racial intolerance. They are not democratic or free the anc is a one party state machine that will not tolerate any opposition. SA has about ten to fifteen years before it goes the same way as zim. Sad because the skilled whites driven out by mandela and his henchmen could have made that country work.

  • @arsezania I agree I do not know much about South Africa, my flatmate is South African and he's told me a bit about it all. However, he says it is so much better than how it is in the 80s. If you prefer apartheid you are nothing but a cynic and a racist.

  • Tell me - What about mandela and his murderous henchmen roaming south africa killing farmers? You dont like the idea that your black god is a murderosy genocidal inciter. It spoils your neat and tidy viwe that whites are evil and the poor blacks must be helped like a stray dog needing shelter.

Go to my profile and simply watch the videos in my fav section. Watch the one with mandela singing about killing whites.

If you need a black god, There is bishop Tutu who said remember your humanity

  • @arsezania agree with the Tutu point, didn't know about Mandela's true past. But I still will not say what he did was wrong in the 1990s...if he really was such a terrorist how come he got the Noble peace prize and the such? However i shall investigate this and educate myself to see your point.

  • You say "Horrible to try and compare the ANC to Al-Qaeda who intend to kill our children and instill their values of violence upon our families, whilst destroying one of the mostpeaceful and ancient religions that is Islam"

Do a search on this site for farm murders south africa.

That is the hard work of your democratic non racial mandela lead ANC in south africa. Over 3000 murdered farmers in the last few years!

Your silence is the real crime

Yours and the likes of Cameron & Brown.

  • Please bring the troops home...it is a fight we cannot win - we could be there for 10 years and we are just training the next batch of fighters in that lawless country in how to kill our troops. We might be better head-to-head, but that is quite frankly meaningless. The Europeans will never pull there weight out there either while our troops die in the dangerous areas. NATO is becoming a sham and needs to be totally reorganised so everyone pulls their weight equally or leave.

  • Great edition! God, I hope this man is my next PM!

Those troops make me feel so proud to be British!

  • Bring the troops back NOW and you get my vote. I will vote for the party that brings the troops back the fastest

  • so by that logic you would vote for the BNP if they promised that?

  • By that "logic" will you vote for a government that will kill more british soldiers. The afgans could get rid of us 2moro by stop killing soldiers and we would go home. they want us there so kill a few soldiers and we will stay. GET REAL this is not politics its real life

  • the government doesn't kill soldiers, the terrorist forces do. also the afghans wouldn't stop killing us and if they did we probably wouldn't leave the country, we would just take advantage of them not attacking and just invade some more because the american government has influenced us like that and that the war has become more of an invasion instead of an attack against terrorist groups (but they are still fighting against them). i agree with your views on the war i just wanted to know

  • I think he doesn't have a choice. Britain is only America's "lieutenant", who's being given orders.

  • This is the best Webcameron yet, was nice to see a more realistic side and actually hear the story of the visit rather than just hear a Speech.

I hope this style of webcameron is used again.

  • The fact that Mr. Cameron's so eloquent made it indeed really nice to listen to (: He'd be someone most suitably to read bedtime stories haha. But what he's most suitable for, is becoming our next pm! Vote Cameron, vote conservative in 2010!

  • That should have been suitable instead of suitably btw (:
