Hello united016 thanks for comment. What I ment was the future was suppose to be better, no 911, and other bellow the belt dirty hits. Yes the U.S. had Nam, and other nations had problems e.g.The 6 day war, but the problems of today are monumental. The only good thing today is, the technology.
Sentimental days the 60's the music the cars the excitemnt. There was always something new and fantastic especially if you were living in Canada. A birth of a new generation Canada's 100th birthday EXPO 67 Montreal the greatest world's fair ever. The summertime music Beatles, Hermits,Monkees, Stones, and all in between. The future was going to be the best of times. What happened?
It's a great movie. I actually saw it in theaters and countless times on DVD. Then of course I bought the soundtrack on CD. It's rare that you get so many great tunes on one CD. So many of these songs would easily have been 60's and 70's hits. I know; I was there. If you get the CD, check out the history of That Thing You Do. They make it seem like it was a real song that topped out at #2 on Billboard. It's pretty cool.
I love this movie. Although the Beatles are the Fab 4 and then many bands used to imitate them. The Wonders were no exception. But i think this movie has great songs. I even have the BSO.
TOM HANKS SAID: The four actors playing The Wonders rehearsed as a band for eight weeks to get the feel of performing - but most of their performances in the film were dubbed by other musicians
The Wonders é tão bom, as canções tem uma letra e uma melodia tão gostosinha de ouvir... faz eu sentir mais falta do meu grande amor, que está lá do outro lado do mundo.
@mortygwhiz You are so lucky. I feel much more at home listening to the oldies rather than the stuff now. Mom and I were born just a bit late in the century, as I am a teen now and she in the eighties.
no they where not dubbed....they practiced without even knowing how to read music notes, it was all by remeberance.

These songs were made especially for the movie...the actors in the band, "The Wonders," are actually performing those songs.

This really sounds like a song from the 1960's. It could have been a hit back then, really. I was a teen back then.
