Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.
Nice mix on my laptop. He had a good voice, great photo of the guys in goth garb, looks like they're in front of the Winchester Mansion - a scary place......
I'm of the 70s generation, and one day on the "progressive rock" station, after a 32-minute ELP song, they put THIS on. I was STUNNED by how INCREDIBLY GREAT it sounded.
Count Five = out of San Jose CA almost the entire band went to Pioneer HS on Blossom Hill Road in the 1960's.....This is actually a cover of Bo Diddley's "Mumblin' Guitar".....Listen to both songs back to back and you'll see.....
@willbgood65 --- Yeah, I've read it, it was included as part of Edsel's Best-Of CD release. And dumbass me thought it was all serious at first, had NO idea he was making up albums that this band NEVER released!!! I was pissed when I later found out these guys lasted one album & one album only........LOL!!!!!
Although very young at the time, what hooked me on "Psychotic Reaction" was the fuzz box the guitarist used; it made the song seem more interesting and fast-paced compared to most of the US pop music of the time. In retrospect the Yardbirds were the first to have a hit song in the US using the fuzz box
(1965) "Heart Full of Soul", yet this 66' song is a textbook example of how influential the Yardbirds were on 60's garage bands. Still a good listen after all these years.
I don't remember these guys on The Munsters, but the Standell's did appear with Herman and Lilly and Co.! Drove a neat Barris built Fairlane with a half roof!!!
Another good version of 96 tears was done by a band called "The Fire Escape", which was Sky Saxon of the Seeds, along with some studio musicians. Also "Positively 13 O'clock did an interesting version.
As for the Count Five, I also always liked their song, "Double Decker Bus", and of course, their guest appearance on an episode of "The Munsters". was great fun.
Thanks for posting.
And don't forget, when you visit Mars, you are the alien.
Thanks for the tip, I'll remember it next time i'm visiting Mars. Mind you I feel like an alien every time I visit London now, so it won't be very different.
I had a compilation I played as a very young kid over and over. It had Steppenwolf's 'Magic Carpet Ride', Cream's 'White Room', Donovan's 'Sunshine Superman', Castaway's 'Liar Liar', Music Machine's 'Talk, Talk', and a lot of others. This was one of my favorites (which was also on the lp), and I couldn't find the studio version on youtube and couldn't find a download (which is weird because I have almost 20,000 songs downloaded). So I thank you a lot for this posts hawkmoon.
Yes I know it. The original was ? & the Mysterians. I had a copy I taped from a friend in the sixties (naughty). Might still have it somewhere. I have another version by the Music Machine. Will upload that for you to hear later.
Question Mark & The Mysterians are interesting.... well Question Mark is because 1) He's never revealed his real name, 2) He's never seen without shades on, and of course 3) Because he's a freak and claims he's been with dinosaurs and that he's seen aliens when he used to live in Mars.... anyways thanks for posting this.
" LOVE IT!!!!! had this song when i was eleven at primary school.

Sounds just like Yardbirds so much so that they should be arrested and locked up for flagrant plagerism.
