  • its L.E.D. not led

  • I had that ide just a few days ago, Deja Vu XD

  • It's very cool! However, I just don't see the point of wasting your time modding on something so simple as a flash drive.

  • @cateye27 Well, why not? The practice you get in projects like this help you for bigger and better mods in the future. ;)

  • @AzurusNova Plus, you can use different colored LEDs to tell one unit from another without opening the files.

  • My girlfriend thought the cops were outside when i had mine on!

  • @Gamethroughs

    Now that is funny!

  • cool mod!

I just done mine (titanium so bitch to prise apart) I went for white which l prefer. I used a 3mm white led and filed it down a bit. the orange colour just looks crappy imho

  • Yep!

I have other things I am modding as well.

Im also getting ideas for spraypaint stenciles as well, and one of them is going to be a radioactive stencile.

I have a Sharp VHS camcorder case that Im going to mod into a kick ass case as well, I just dont know what to put inside of it.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • i did the same thing except with a red light cause it was all i had

  • How do you get the white cover off of the circuit board without breaking it?

  • It takes a little bit og ginger work. There should be some tabs on the sides that you could safely bend back and get it off of the main board.

  • cool, I have a Cruzer micro just like that one (exept mine has 16 gigs.) its so fucking cool!

  • Hey man I'm having trouble trying to line the polarity up, what exactly am I lining the blue line up with on the circuit board?

  • Did you check what side the original led polarity line was on before?

  • Unfortunately, no.

  • Only thing I can tell ya is to try a smaller let and try the leads on the contacts and see if it lights, if you know the polarity of the led to the surface mounted one, then you have it figured out.

    Good luck.

  • What kind of light have you used there, where did u get it from, im thinking of doing the same thing....

  • Its surface mounted, I had a couple extra from an old hard drive pcb, but one thing you will have to make sure you are aware of is the polarity of the led itself. There should be a little blue line on the one side of it, use that as your indicator to line it up.

Be careful not to desolder anything else on the board otherwise your out of a thumbdrive.

  • Hey I have the same memory stick, how did you get the cover off, mine seems to snap when I get it off.....

  • it was slow prying that worked for me, where the little notch where the lanyard was supposed to be, that worked for me.
