  • Are you freakin kiddin me?! Is this woman real!?? She's SO AMAZING!!

  • im doing this play for school

  • This performance is so glamourous ..I love it

  • she. is. a. star. end of story

  • I wonder if other Broadway stars envy Sutton Foster...

  • @bibliophile52 Theater is a 'cooperative' venue (posted with tongue-firmly-in-cheek) .

  • Wow, that was awesome!!

  • i had to do a dance for this in my audition...lets just say my showing off was um...interesting...

  • In the production I am in right now, I am playing the part of Janet...i cant do the splits or a cartwheel...i'm pretty sure i'm doomed...

  • I love you Sutton Foster!

  • I just discovered my favorite Broadway actress, Sutton Foster, starred in this show, which my high school is doing :D

  • I hope Sutton Foster will ALWAYS want to show off!

  • She is FABULOUS.

  • 15 people work for Mr. Feldzeig.

  • I love her so much

  • 15 people don't wanna show off no more

  • Pretty much a vocally flawless performance. Doesn't hurt that she gets a nice sip of water before her final note, either!

  • I luv this song!

  • She is AMAZING !

  • Sutton Foster = fabulous!!!!!

  • This looks like a GREAT show!!

  • Sutton Foster is one of my favorite modern Broadway performers. How could you not like this?

  • 14 people still want to striptease:P

  • She looks like Judy Garland sometimes....

  • @OrlandoASL wow..she really does! A young Judy like in the Mickey Rooney films

  • i met and sang with sutton through my choir program and shes AMAZING. shes also really down to earth and made us all laugh. she even hugged me and had a conversation with me!! ( as well as signed my bag :)

  • how old was she in this clip? i was suprised that she was flexible in this!! DAANG she's such a performer!

  • @broadwayxdude06 I'm pretty sure "Drowsy Chaperone" was on THE Street THIS century - actually around 2004-5 somewhere, before Sutton got soooo old! LOL ! It's too bad there's isnt any dancing or numbers that would require any flexibility in "Anything Goes".

  • @mmbr01rrf Have you seen Anything Goes?

  • @missmaddie90 Yeah- early in the run. And', I have to admit , I could probably be VERY happy seeing it at least every other couple of weeks.

  • @mmbr01rrf Flexibility-wise, she does do some high kicks in "Blow Gabriel" in Anything Goes, as well as a fully extended ballet penchée over the backs of two male dancers, before turning around and continuing to belt.

  • @walt1896 i saw that! she was amazing in Anything Goes! she's amazing at everything

  • @broadwayxdude06 This was 2006. She was 31. She also did slow splits while singing the ballad "Listen to Your Heart" in "Young Frankenstein" in 2008 at age 33. (on Ytube) She turned 36 now during "Anything Goes." And with AG extended into 2012, it will mark her 20th year on the professional boards — since Tommy Tune cast the 17 yr old HS Junior from Michigan in "Will Rogers Follies" & she finished HS by correspondence courses with Mr. Bodick her HS drama teacher she thanks at every Tony Win.

  • This is one of the funniest musicals I've seen in years. However, you simply can't see one little number out of context and judge.

  • This is in my top ten favorite shows of all time. It has an oustanding cast. Sutton Foster was fantastic in it. I saw it in Los Angeles, twice, before it went to B'way and couldn't stop laughing and thinking about it. What a brilliant piece of work.

  • I'm just sad that she didn't get to do the encore she always did after that song. It was always funny!

  • Excuse me but. Costume change impossible. What the fuck is happening with the switch from yellow to pink?

  • @pacificanai It's possible. It's actually really easy if you're good.

  • I do not get this show at all.

  • @JoelleDunn It is complicated if someone tries to explain it to you. But if you go see it, it will be easy to follow! I am in the show right now and I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GreatBroadwayFan - I don't find it complicated. I just don't think it's funny. Our theater group just did it and they did a fantastic job. It's just not my cup of tea.

  • Drinking Game!!! He is Andy Cohen

  • Love it, but a little girl at my dance studio did a solo to this, and I personally thought hers was so much more adorable. It should be on the stage one YouTube channel because that's where we went to competition. Check it out!! ;)

  • Lovelovelovelove

  • I fricken love her to death

  • They should make the movie BLACK SWAN into a Broadway musical and have Sutton play the lead. Especially the fact that she looks like NATALIE PORTMAN

  • Im still not sure where they've put the yellow dress, after she changes behind the umrbella...

  • @TimKoopman10 It's a dress where it's underneath the one she is already wearing. So she just snaps the top dress down and the pink one falls in front.

  • @Danceykur Yes i understand:) but i dont get where they leave the yellow one afterwards... like in legally blonde, the salesgirls just has it on her shoulder... her it just dissapeard! no one is holding it, it isnt attached to the umbrella... so where do they keep the yellow one?

  • @TimKoopman10 Think of it as a reversible dress, or 2 dresses in 1. The top part of the yellow dress is snapped off, where it falls down into the pink dress. Since the pink dress is longer than the yellow dress it covers the yellow fabric. So the yellow dress is never taken off physically, just hidden underneath. Does that make more sense? I might not have explained it very well the first time, my bad. :) It's just an illusion really.(:

  • @pixeydust12 Oh, and sorry, this is still Danceykur. I didn't realize I was on my sister's channel when I responded to this reply. Sorry.(:

  • @pixeydust12 if u look, inside the umbrella is a pouch...idk but i think she might put the dress inside!

  • @pixeydust12 I understand it now completely, thanks a lot :) around 2:38 you can also see that the dress is not completely 'touching' her skin (sorry for my english, i cant express myself better:p), so it must be something for the magnets!

  • is it just me , or does Sutton remind you of Cathrine zeta jones in chicago here ?!

  • @XXjustXyourXdramaXX - See her in clips from "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and she really looks like Catherine Zeta Jones - right down to the hairstyle and outfits she has.

  • @woohooboy Pretty sure there's a REAL anatomical difference between Ms Foster and Mrs Douglas just slightly below the shoulders. It's more of a size thing. Still prefer Sutton in a LIVE performance.

  • Sutton's amazing, every part she has I want! <3 x

  • I had the pleasure of working with Sutton ten years ago at Goodspeed. Aside from being a stellar performing, she's an absolute darling person. A sweet girl with incredible talent. Brava!

  • @violentgreen You're too lucky to have been able to work with her! After everything she's achieved, she still seems like the most down to earth person ever.

  • we're doing this "musical within a comedy" (: its great(:

  • 13 people still wanna show off.

  • She's a goddess

  • Ok you can see that it's not pre-recorded cause you can hear the bit of hesitation for a breath of air right before she says (aw gee I don't wanna show off). Not that hesitation for breathing is bad i mean the girls gotta breathe sometime. :)

  • she inspires me.

  • oh my god I just saw sutton in anything goes! Let me tell you, this is nothing compared to her performance in 'Blow Gabriel Blow" and the title number and her numerous solos! Shes phenomenal!

  • This literally never gets old.

  • amazing voice!

  • wonderful actress!!! seriously, i wish all of her performances were filmed.

  • 12 dislikes! whats not to like? I'd like to see those 12 people who disliked this do the splits on stage, do high kicks, and belt out huge notes all at once better than Sutton Foster did.

  • @starlee24 Oh and all in 3" heels too.

  • @starlee24 Don't forget Sutton's AMAZING leg extensions!

  • @starlee24 Video quality, maybe? That's the only flaw I can spot, that's for sure.

  • I love this show so much! And I love Sutton Foster even more! I can't believe I'm going to be performing this role in a month! No matter how much I practice, I will not even have 1/100 of her brilliance. Playing Janet scares me to death...and all because of Sutton Foster. You have left big shoes to fill, lady. But I love you for it. Sigh...could I just borrow her talent for the night's of our performance? Please? I can't? Oh well...back to rehearsal.

  • I want to be Janet or Trix when my theater company does this in FOUR DAYS!

  • For all of you commenting on the random gags like how she sings while drinking water and stuff like that, its because the musical is supposed to be over the top and cheesy. Its 1928, everything was cheesy.

  • Can I PLEASE be her when I grow up?

  • @f0r33ha yes you can.

  • i love her

  • the transitions of her in this are amazinggggg.

  • i love sutton. can i just rave about 5:18 for a minute? she's just closing her eyes, but it's so powerful.

  • @alexawagg hey stupid, when she's drinking water and the pre-recording kicks in...

That's for laughs... And it worked.

  • Comment removed

  • @alexawagg you can tell that it's a separate recording played for those few moments, its just used for comedy that she can still sing while drinking water, sutton never lip syncs! she's just amazing and its not exactly like the recording there are subtle differences but they're definitely noticed when you really listen

  • @alexawagg She isn't lip synching. I just played the original at the same time as this and they're really different.

  • @alexawagg, She's not lip syncing darling... they used that recording for comedy relief; (she can take a sip of water and still be singing) get it? she's "SHOWING OFF" ...Sutton never lip sync's, nor does anyone else on the Tony awards... its the Tonys for Christ sake, lol! She's just that amazing(-; Thats the difference between Broadway and recording stars; Broadway stars HAVE to sing live..., its the nature of their kraft... ***

  • @lar2090 Thank you for not being rude... i was just saying. I was wrong and thats all! I hate when people do that... :(

  • @alexawagg it's the exact same voice, because she's very well practiced... andwelll, it's HER voice.

  • @alexawagg

think about this,,,,,it's the TONY AWARDS!!!!! NOBODY lip synchs!

  • is it just me or does sutton close her eyes at the last note of every song she sings in every show?

  • whaat happens to the yellow dress!!!

  • @mdiamse Of all time, you say!

  • @mdiamse You must be talking about a different Sutton Foster who isn't on Broadway and hasn't been in 10 Broadway shows, 5 of which she originated the role. Yeah...you're thinking of the non-famous Sutton, not this one.

  • I think I'm responsible for at least 1,000 of these views...

  • what's wrong w/ the lighting? anyway - awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome performance!

  • 'Scuse me, where's the Tony?

  • This is fantastic :) This is definitely one of those songs where I can imagine the scene playing in my head when the song is playing and I feeling like dancing along!

  • I saw her in her final performance in Drowsy and she was AMAZING! I can't wait for Anything Goes!!!

  • Sutton Foster=Amazing!

  • Diiiiiiiiiiiivvvvvvvvvvvaaaaaaa

  • omg... goddess....

  • I'm so stoked we're doing this at my school in February, we start rehearsals right after the Winter Break!! :)

  • 11 people can't show off, apparently.

  • One of my favorite tony performances EVER!

  • "I'm surprised she didn't do an encore!"

  • we ALL wish we could dance like this, don't try to deny it. SUTTON IS AMAZING... never quite been able to figure out exactly how she does those quickchanges. PURE UTTER AMAZING-dance. and voice- sje can def sing after moving around, wish i could lol.

  • im singing this song for an audition.... im not god but i still have to audition beause i want a speaking role our musical is lil abner..

  • I'm so exited! Our school is putting this on for our school play....and I get to make the sets!

  • i love the Crazy For You poster on his fridge

  • @5934931 omg i dodnt even notice tht 2 funny

  • SUTTTTTTTONNNN FOSSSTERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How old are you know cause I wasn't that old when I went to see her as Millie?!?

  • This woman is just un f'ing believable!!!! Not ONE SINGLE off pitch note!!!! How did she do the drinking thing? anyone know???? She is crazy talented!!!

  • @circuitmedic someone else sang that line when she drank :)

  • no it was prerecorded

  • @xojuliankathlene. Or something like tht. Yeah!! Thanks she is just really amazing.

  • Sutton Foster is my cousin. She is a beast and I can't wait till Christmas to see her!! She is the coolest cousin ever and doesn't forget the little people!!

  • @theKTOWNballer23 you are so lucky to have someone so talented in your family! sutton foster has been an inspiration of mine for a long time. you really are very lucky!

  • @theKTOWNballer23 that's incredibly cool you're related to sutton foster!! i'm her biggest fan and saw her in everything since millie except for this (she left the show a week before i saw it). she's been such an inspiration since i saw her in millie when i was eight shes the one who got me into theatre!

  • @theKTOWNballer23 OMG UR SO LUCKY

  • I can't get enough of her talent!

  • Saw this at my local performing arts center, funniest musical ever.

  • I love this class-A performance that only Sutton can do.

  • @collectingbees exactly. we all want to be her...

  • thank you for posting!!!

  • thank you for posting!!!

  • This show was hilarious. I'm surprised it's not more popular! When I went to see it in the theatres, there were so many empty seats! What is this world coming to?

  • @babileilei it was a huge flop even though it had her and it got great reviews... don't ask me why.

  • Is there anything she can't do?

  • @pudgeuncle no. no way

  • @sparklingstarlighter I agree. She could star in a musical version of Macbeth...and be wonderful....playing Macbeth. I can't wait for Anything Goes.

  • @pudgeuncle oh my god ,she totally should. I'd love to see that. I can't wait either, as soon as tickets are available im buying mine

  • Is she ambidextrous? She does a left footed cartwheel but a right footed(left leg) heal stretch!

  • @luvHSM2 huh, impressive

  • Eleven people are idiots and clicked the wrong button.

  • @maymay8914 Totally. Eleven idiots.

  • AMAZING. That's her middle name, by the way. Sutton Amazing Foster.

  • @jdstanning i believe its lenore... but we can change it :)

  • Costume changes! :)

Yellow to PInk: she takes off only the top and stuffs it into the umbrella. The pink then flows down and covers the yellow skirt. (2:55 you can see a pouch when he lifts the umbrella back up)

Pink to red: the pink has a unitard built in it, she slips that off behind stage and BOOM, you have her last dress. :)

  • @mattro1000 ah. tht makes sense

  • @mattro1000 It's still so amazing for the onstage change when she stuffs the yellow costume into the umbrella that she barely has 2 seconds to do it in and you don't even notice. the offstage one I can imagine being so much easier, because she doesn't have to worry about anybody seeing it happen, plus she has a couple more seconds to actually do it.

  • I love Sutton! She is one of the nicest people I have ever met!

She came to my college last year and taught workshops, talked to classes, and gave a special performance and sang this song (and did the quick change) and she's coming back next week! Can't wait!!!

  • This is the funniest show I've seen. I was on the edge of my seat laughing aloud the entire time.

  • Haha at the end ....no more! *makes a hilarious face*

  • she has so much talent. now THAT'S talent!

  • I can watch this again and again and it never gets old. <3 Sutton

  • I don't understand how anything she does in this is possible. She's super-human.

  • I love how she closes her eyes at around 5:20. Sutton is amazing.

  • Holy moly, now that's talent!

  • Such a wonderfully fun show - totally "old fashioned" Broadway but enjoyable from start to finish.

  • LOVE HER!

  • i never knew sutton foster was so flexible!!!!!!

  • Sutton is my HERO!!!

  • i watched this video so many times and i still dont understand how she isnt out of breath!

  • @broadwaygirl0307 maybe shes mouthing the song!!!

  • @tiona31 There is another amazing Youtube clip of Sutton doing the number on Broadway and she is not out of breath there either. Fellow performers have often praised her stamina by saying, "Sutton is a machine!"

  • @walt1896 Oh ok, well than she is very good :)

  • @broadwaygirl0307 you should see her after she does anything goes as reno sweeney on broadway. com. I would be HEAVING and she is singing like a BELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @proudchristian101 i know i would be too! i saw it the other day and i cannot be more excited for it! i also saw in shrek the musical. she sang a song, said a scene, sang another song, did a huge dance number, then did another scene, without a break in between, and sounded perfect!!!!! not once did u hear her try to catch her breath! she's just amazing!

  • @broadwaygirl0307 Oh yeah she was, didn't you hear her on the last "no more" there? Maybe it's just singers that notice that.

  • @Bub1029 yea BARELY

  • @broadwaygirl0307 It means that she has a STRONG diaphragm and really good breath support. She's very trained too, you can't just learn that overnight.

  • @broadwaygirl0307

i know, right?? it seems so impossible

  • How old IS this song anyway? I love it though

  • didn't sutton break her wrist doing a cartwheel during the rehearsal or preview process?

  • @msgirl2981

She was practicing this song, but she actually broke her wrist by stumbling backwards and when she fell back she caught herself with her hand and it broke her wrist.

    :)

  • @protonsunite Actually, wasn't it Accident Waiting To Happen that she was rehearsing?
