I think that Stephen Harper, while not being a super duper PM, is better than any of the other options currently available. It's probably how alot of voters are choosing where their votes land. Iggy is the least shitty as far as I'm concerned. Harper has shown how he governs a minority, I was willing to give him a chance to prove he is not a mean spirited neo-con...he has proven that he is. He has taken us from crisis to crisis in the four short years he's been in power. Not all where of his own making ..but most where at very least made worse by his leadership (or lack there of). Although I don't 'love' Iggy, I think it's as you said...he is the least shitty..and deserves a chance.

-They have actually increased overall arts and culture funding.

-Bill C-484 does NOT take away a woman's right to choose.

Bill C-61 would give this fellow a $20,000 lawsuit from each of the people he used copyrighted photos, audio, or video from. And the middle three are just your opinions. The first I don't have the numbers in front of me to refute them, but given your poor accuracy for the rest, I'd not put too much trust in them.

My facts are facts, sorry you don't believe them. Actually C-61 would put a $500 liability cap if the violation is not for commercial use, right now we're exposed to unlimited liability.

C-61 does have a $20k liability cap for breaking DRM locks and I agree that sucks, hopefully public pressure will change that part.

The music and images in this video are still copyright regardless of C-61. YT will yank this video in a second if the rights holder asks them to. C-61 wouldn't change that.

There should be no liability for educatiobal use period. Anyone passing or trying to pass such a law is a crook. Plain and simple. You need to check your facts. The cuts before 2050 are all "intensity" cuts, which essentially do nothing.

The national daycare was on the table and ready to be implemented. It's the Tories who scrapped it...the greatest blow to social support this country has ever seen.

And locally, arts and culture funding has been very noticeably cut. Literacy programs are gone, library programs are gone, grants are gone.

I've seen NOTHING to replace any of them.

Wrong again. The 2020/2050 targets are absolute targets, intensity targets are used as a compliance mechanism.

The national daycare program was introduced by Paul Martin in Nov 2005 without budgetary approval (which is illegal) and the government was ultimately defeated over the issue. It was basically just an election promise, it never existed, and Martin's government was replaced 2 months later.

I don't know about specific arts programs, but overall funding has increased, not decreased.

-the specific cuts were made to all national arts programs and the 'spending' was actually tax rebates for children's private art classes (of the Saturday morning persuasion). Which isn't actually spending but tax cuts.

There IS a point denying things that aren't true. You are taking about particular arts programs that were discontinued by the Canada Council for the Arts - not by the federal government. The federal government INCREASED funding to the Canada Council for the Arts, who then decided to cut some things like international trips.

As for trying to kill the CBC, what are you taking about? CBC funding has gone up every year since Harper came to power, except one year when a temporary subsidy expired.
