@23blueejay I don't know about this guy but when I breed balls, at least 80% of the money I make goes back into building my collection and introducing new genetics to make even nicer looking animals. You can't really say Brian doesn't have a passion for snakes even though he breeds for cash. In your mind why can't he breed to make a living and also care about the animals at the same time? I consider myself a hobbyist breeder but I don't like getting normals and getting bad odds either.........
@SomeFamousPolak Its normal since they are cutting the eggs. The snakes are very close to hatching and when they do there will be a little blood which comes from the egg. Similar to any animals birth or hatching, there is often blood involved.
man so what if you had a few normals they are still live, sentient beings that you helped bring into the world. Stop being such a pissy little dick and be happy.
I agree that hatching out anything is awesome, but the price difference between a normal and a killer bee is a couple thousand dollars. But still, I'd be happy hatching out anything alive and healthy.
Super pastel to spider would produce 50% bumble bee and 50% spider. Both parents need to be carrying pastel alleles in order to produce a killer bee. A killer bee IS a super pastel and a spider all in one.
@xsnakexxxeyesx i thought super pastel will produce just bees and spiders since the super is dominate all will have a pastel form. such as u breed a super pastel x normal u get all pastels or does it not work wen u breed a super to another morph
well that clutch is exactly what you'd get from breeding a bumble bee to a pastel, 25% killer/bumble,25% of what made up these snakes were bumblebee genes, 75% pastel, 75% of what made up these snakes were pastel genes, and the normals were a bit odd though.
I think if it's your fist time breeding snakes, it is probably safest to let them hatch on their own. Its best to learn how to cut eggs later on from someone who has some experience with it. Good luck!
maculatum38 has a pretty safe method of cutting the eggs, using small SHarp scissors, by making a tiny tiny tiny snip and making a crease at the top, the just cutting the crease open... I would always be scared using a razor blad because they are sooo sharp!
No, the blood seen when cutting eggs isn't from the snakes or else we would all have snakes hatching with cuts all over them, lol. There is a thin membrane that lines the entire inside of the egg shell. The membrane contains some small blood vessels that are responsible for gas exchange while the embryo is developing. This is the blood that you're seeing.
Brian is cutting the eggs because I was filming. It could have easily been the other way around but that's the how it worked out. Thanks!
That's a very good but controversial question. Some people do not cut eggs at all. Others cut after 60 days, to ensure that all the babies can hatch and none drown in the eggs and the impatient one's like myself cut a few days early because we can wait to see whats inside the eggs. The later the better though, cutting too early risks the health of the embryo. Our eggs usually hatch between days 53-55. So if they have not pipped on day 53, I usually cut them. Thats just me though. Thanks!
Dude how old is that razor? lol
