@ConsilienceDVO Yeah right faggot! You obviously know nothing about Martial Arts!! Haha moron, why don't you go bend over for one of your pussy MMA fighters! Take It from someone who ACTUALLY practices Tae kwon Do, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Eskrima AND MMA! Most mma fighters suck balls, so they go to REAL MARTIAL ARTISTS TO TRAIN THEM! Obviously you don't train in anything and would get your ass kicked by just about anyone! When a person Idiolizes MMA fighters.... it's obvious he doesn't know shit!
@TacticalAngel86 Ha ha, you mad. Anyways, Daniels is very one dimensional. Bruce Lee even said to be like water. Be formless so you can take on all forms."The best fighter is not a Boxer, Karate or Judo man. The best fighter is someone who can adapt on any style. He kicks too good for a Boxer, throws too good for a Karate man, and punches too good for a Judo man." Bruce Lee. I have trained in a lot of TMA ( traditional martial arts) I feel no need to brag and name off styles.
@TacticalAngel86 Daniels is very good in his sport, but very cocky. There is a reason why he never went back to MMA when he got owned by "what's his name" in his first MMA fight. You know and I know he has no chance in MMA. I am not an MMA fanatic like you think. I just simply stated the obvious that he would get owned by a not so good MMA fighter.Which he did. Don't get mad at me for telling the truth. He tried MMA and obviously doesn't want to go back. Lets see if he ever gets in the cage again
@ConsilienceDVO What you fail to relize is most of these real martial artists can make a whole, whole lot more money doing other things like. Kim do who does martial stunts and choreography for movies all over the world.
@TacticalAngel86 yes, I understand that. And to be honest, I do think Daniels is skilled more than most in his realm. Although he is a great karate man, he needs to go out of his comfort zone. Cung Le and Lyoto Machida are TMA and have had success in MMA. As martial artists they have progressed. I'm sure if I met him I would actually like the guy but what I have seen so far, he is way to cocky for being a good karate man and nothing else. Any decent ( not best) MMA fighter can take out Daniels.
@ConsilienceDVO FUCK MMA!!! I'M TIRED OF MMA. MMA IS NOT MARTIAL ART, JUST A BUNCH OF ANIMALS HITING EACH OTHER LIKE DRUNK IN A BAR. STOP COMPARING YOU WITH REAL MARTIAL ARTIST, BRAINLESS DOUSCHE BAGS!
see this guy is the perfect example of "new age" martial arts. hes flashy and impractical unless theres a reff there to keep him from gettin his ass kicked. now he is a clearly a great athlete and know his stuff when it comes to the head games and flash of competitive kick boxing/karate but could he teach a class of 10-12 year olds self discipline respect and tradition? idts all hed teach them is disrespect and flash thing that would get him killed in somthin real like a bar fight. good video.
@hinataluva - True, but don't forgot that this guy literally "plays" martial sports. The World Combat League has made free style fighting with rules and pads into a fun and enjoyable (not bloody and violent) way of fighting. It's not meant to imitate UFC or MMA fights. It's a much lighter system, and it IS a sport. Know what I'm saying?
@PatrickSmithPhD yah i do and he is very good at it! im not denying his athletic ability or evean really his fighting a ability, clearly hes a great fighter. but i feel like he's kind of misrepresenting karate/kickboxing/martial arts as a"sport" these types of things were never meant to be sports. when they are adapted as such it brings out people like him. i have a problem with the amount of respect that he shows his aponant. could u really call hima martial artist if he doesnt show respect?
@hinataluva - Yeah, I could, but I don't think it's befitting for a high level martial artist to not show respect to other competitors. It makes it too savage and (I hate to say it) "uncivilized". I don't mind a competitor being cocky or somewhat dismissive towards another competitor who has a bad attitude, but at I definitely believe in being respectful until the last minute. I believe we are agreed. :)
@hinataluva Your logic makes no sense. Being a world class point fighter and kick boxer doesn't mean you would lose in a bar fight. And being flashy doesn't mean you can't teach 12 year-olds about discipline, respect and tradition.
He plays full contact and light contact ( full contact is without the helmet)..His style is kick boxing along with with tae kwon do techiques (I suppose he knows way more than those two).
@ponciarello79 I am not sure what style he specifically trains in but he is a kickboxer, and I have been lucky enough to see him at a few kickboxing fights. Talented man
OMFG THIS DUDE IS INCREEEDIBLE! I remember him from back in the point fighting days where most of these videos were taken. This dude is magnificent.Didja see his moves from 2:53 til like 2:58? Dude is AMAZING!! And that movefrom 1:25-27? dude is stupendous with the quickness! Thanks Alejandro Romahn for putting this video up!
OMFG THIS DUDE IS INCREEEDIBLE! I remember him from back in the point fighting days where most of these videos were taken. This dude is magnificent.Didja see his moves from 2:53 til like 2:58? Dude is AMAZING!!
I'll also add that it is hard to tell if this guy is actually arrogant or if he merely likes getting into his opponents' head. A lot of nice guys trash talk or try to throw you off in competitive events, but are otherwise cool.
His stand up is good, but as usual he represents the false sense of security that TKD, Karate, Kung-fu etc bring, when they get into a street fight. Daniels one and only stint in MMA proved once again that without learning to grapple your liable to get beat to a pulp. Daniels has not fought in another MMA match since then. He get's it. He much rather stay in a sport where it is safer.
I'd love to see him develop a dangerous guard and top game with BJJ. He'd be able to do mma and throw crazy strikes without worrying about being taken down.
@ILuvUrMammy Yeah sport Karate plus a little Kickboxing mixed in there. He also fought one MMA fight, but I don't think his ground game was quite where it should have been. Would be great if he got a lot better at Wrestling and BJJ. He'd be an awesome addition to the UFC.
good fighter i have to admit, but simply too cocky. i mean after EVERY SINGLE POINT he showboats, kickboxing should be a respectful sport. great tribute btw
He is a great point fighter. I'd like to see how he would do in MMA though where the fight doesn't stop after one shot and where is can go to the ground.
@mickeyford Daniels got choked out in his only MMA fight. Daniels was on the ground the whole time taking punishment and never landed a strike. He wasn't ready for MMA yet.
Real talk, I don't really have much of a appreciation for that point BS however this dude puts it down for real. He can really fight where most point fighters cannot. He has taken point sparing to a different level. I wish more would follow. Instead of trying to master the game of tag. hats off to you RD
I'd also like to point out, he is the best at what he does, if i was him i'd take the same attitude he does! if you can show off and win the way he wins then total props to him!
Far too many people are going to disagree with my following comment because far too many people just see his arrogance and dislike it straight away, fair play, but you have to also remember this guy lives and trains point fighting! he's set his life style to only work for fighting his style so saying he should do this and do that is a waste of time, he lost his mma fight because he's not a ground fighter, stick him in a ring and he'll do the job.
Respect to Muhammad Ali, but I trust the ancient japanese masters that profess to be humble is the secret to improve the possibily to survive (and so win) against an enemy. This is because they proof only humble people can learn everything, never underestimates the opponent ecc ecc
I think they know very well what it was needed to win (and so to survive) againt an opponent.
lol, it's funny that his title it "the real deal". he is anything but. way too arrogant for his skill level. no doubt he is one of the best point fighters in the world but he act tough like he is a real fighter... i would love to see him try out for the K1 circuit lol
This stuff sucks. Point fighting is as worthless as TKD. And to anyone that says his style of fighting is applicable to actual fighting, check his ONE mma match. He lost. By submission
I was surprised Daniels did so horrible in that MMA fight and more surprised that he didn't come back and try it again. So whats Daniels doing now anyone know? He needs to learn some jitsu and do MMA. To much talent to let age creep up on you.
Daniel's skill cannot be denied, he is a very fast and technical fighter. That said, you would think that someone with as much traditional training as he as had would be more humble or respectful. I can understand being proud of your talent, I was a three time national WTF champion, but be respectful of the man in front of you, he has worked hard as well. This is what happens when you properly train a thug; you get a very skilled thug.
@syncys (LOL) Raymond not a thug, He use to be a California Cop, He made more money being doing karate, and seminars that he stopped. I know him cause I do the NASKA circuit as well, And everyone he beats, He hangs with after the tournament anyway. You catch all of us same area after (LOL)
i love how he play while fighting omg i see him in san carlos but i was to shy to ask him a photo or i was so stuid but he cant figth because there was no one who want to figth with him i hope i see him in rosarito
alguien sabe si raymonds daniels volvio a pelear en la mma despues de la paliza que le dio jeremias Metcalf? me gustaria verlo mas entrenado para que le patee el trasera a Metcalf!!!
@jrazatlab I've trained with Raymond and his Dad Master Frank Daniels. You might want to see some of Raymond's full contact fights. Before you say that. His only weakness is lack of a ground game.
I would like to see him fight in Kyokushin Karate. That would be interesting to see how his style would work there and if he would still be as dominant.
Wow this has got to be by far the best point sparring I've ever seen. Hope it transitions into MMA well. I'd like to see him point spar Lyoto Machida, then have a full contact stand-up fight with Machida (even though Machida would win, would still be interesting stylistically). So far his MMA record is 0 wins 1 loss, but maybe he'll do better once he gets more well rounded.
@Ljenkins9000 ES UN GRAN PELEADOR NO SE PUEDE NEGAR, PERO COMO DEPORTISTA MARCIAL, SU ACTITUD AVERGÜENZA A CUALQUIER INSTRUCTOR... PARECE UN PELEADOR CALLEJERO QUE SE VANAGLORIA DE SI MISMO.
Ain't crazy about the cockiness, but have to say he can back it up! In 30 years of MA training, i've never seen someone make other "great" athletes look slow and incompetent. The guy is incredible. A little humbleness wouldn't hurt him though.
Cocky muderfuwker! i want to fight him my unorthodoxy style vs his cocky-shit-te.

kianysoe69 1 year ago
lol, it's funny that his title it "the real deal". he is anything but. way too arrogant for his skill level. no doubt he is one of the best point fighters in the world but he act tough like he is a real fighter... i would love to see him try out for the K1 circuit lol
Daniels vs Buakao .......first round KO lol

This stuff sucks. Point fighting is as worthless as TKD. And to anyone that says his style of fighting is applicable to actual fighting, check his ONE mma match. He lost. By submission
disinferno06 1 year ago
i think he is to cocky and needs a kyokushin fighter to nock him out!

So much potential wasted on a point system. Oh well, interesting video regardless.

I was surprised Daniels did so horrible in that MMA fight and more surprised that he didn't come back and try it again. So whats Daniels doing now anyone know? He needs to learn some jitsu and do MMA. To much talent to let age creep up on you.
JiuClaw22 1 year ago
Daniel's skill cannot be denied, he is a very fast and technical fighter. That said, you would think that someone with as much traditional training as he as had would be more humble or respectful. I can understand being proud of your talent, I was a three time national WTF champion, but be respectful of the man in front of you, he has worked hard as well. This is what happens when you properly train a thug; you get a very skilled thug.
syncys 1 year ago
@syncys (LOL) Raymond not a thug, He use to be a California Cop, He made more money being doing karate, and seminars that he stopped. I know him cause I do the NASKA circuit as well, And everyone he beats, He hangs with after the tournament anyway. You catch all of us same area after (LOL)

This guy doesnt deserve half of the respect his getting. Point sparring? He wont last a minute in a real fight.
jrazatlab 1 year ago
@jrazatlab I've trained with Raymond and his Dad Master Frank Daniels. You might want to see some of Raymond's full contact fights. Before you say that. His only weakness is lack of a ground game.

I don't like the round ring.
With no ropes or corners, it deducts from the need for good footwork.
He should fight Spong, or anyone on the Dutch, Japanese or Thai circuit and see how good he really is...

I would like to see him fight in Kyokushin Karate. That would be interesting to see how his style would work there and if he would still be as dominant.

such a great fighter, but showboats to much... calm down a lil,but hes my fav fighter
niTroRcFreAk5 1 year ago

LordBwithU 1 year ago
@LordBwithU I know what you mean, hes a show boat, but deserves to be. But in interviews he's very humble and well spoken.
