@Sidrat54 Seriously? Cold Roses? Jacksonville City Nights? Not to mention country songs among his other non-country albums (Pearls on a String comes to mind). Ryan has always been alt country. Hell, he's more country than 99% of the songs you hear on a 'country' radio station today. How could Gram Parson's not be an influence?

You could tell he was nervous at the start (he admitted it later in interviews) but once he got that "high and lonesome" through the nose back in his sound, he nailed it....and who wouldn't be nervous, how would you like trying to follow GP on this one singing with the legendary woman who was there at the birth of it....
