@jakemiller5000 My dad has an ES330. He got it used off a lease and it's working perfectly. I've been in a Camry before and comparably the build quality is the same but the quality of the materials is so much better. There's also a ton of cool features in there and it works just like it has all this time.
The ES is based on the Camry chassis and like all Lexus shares buttons and stuff from the Toyota parts bin. Lexus is not a real luxury brand to me. Look at the European and American luxury brands how they started out. They defined what a luxury brand is. Rebadging some cheap Toyota isn't luxury. The car might have luxury features but the brand, Lexus, is just empty and pretentious. Your dad would be better off selling that gussied up Camry and getting say an Audi A6. Much nicer.

Lexuses, while more expensive than Toyotas, are still less expensive than rivals from BMW, Audi, etc. I will agree that Lexus is not a true luxury brand, but Audi is really just rebadged VW's with improved parts, too. BMW is not the same, but Lexus is still a nice brand, just not full luxury. At least they're starting to do their own thing with the LF-A.

I think FLD is the same again, now that Derek doesnt look all depressed. Only thing I hate are all the interuptions from JF in the background, so annoying. That new Lexus looks too Toyota like. Infact all of Lexus's cars are starting to look like Toyotas. That Astin Martin Cygnet still looks like a Toyota IQ. All they did is redesign the back, change the grill and logo and add grill holes all over the place. UGLY....... The interior is ugly too and red is my favorite color.
While I still think hybrid systems have no place on a race car (unless they actually improve performance, like that new Porsche), I could see myself driving that thing. Hybrids are never going to be popular unless there are sporty and attractive ones availalable: not everybody wants to drive a Prius or Insight.

Don't get me wrong, Lexus suspension is super soft and their cars have amazing refinement both inside and out but fun is not something in their nature.
IS-F? Doesn't even have manual transmission. I'll go with an M3, RS4, or the mad C63 AMG.
IS350? BMW 335i and Infiniti G37 clearly far better cars.
LF-A? Well I'd hope if you're spending 350k+ on a car that it would have some sort of fun factor.
The only high expectations I have from Toyota/Lexus is the FT-86.
the IQ is a fair amount smaller than a 500. They are 3+1. the EU sucks for making these stupid rules about having a stupidly low CO2 g/km output accross their entire range. they are making cars like this exist. However Aston is being smart, this will offset the real cars and they don't technically have to sell them, just has to be available. Why else would it warrant a 27000 euro premium over a normal iQ? Who would buy it? and igf they do it would have been worth it for them.

The Lexus CT200h. Lexus is a little late to the party when Honda revealed there CRZ awhile back. The CRZ has sport mode setting and comes with 6spd manual. Lets see what the CT200H offers. Hopefully it offers a manual transmission. If it doesn't, who would pay more for a CT200H when they can get a CRZ. The CRZ is probably going to be cheaper anyways. Personally I think the CRZ is much more sportier looking than the CT200H.
Why are some of the people saying the IQ is the Cygnet? They are not the same cars. The Cygnet is based on the IQ. They are both the same idea, but both very different cars in terms of specs. The only reasons the Cygnet goes for 40K Euros is because of the brand, and did you see that interior? It doesn't look cheap.
As for Toyota making something exciting, that's impossible. All the newer Toyotas are extremely bland and boring. I'm more excited over a glass of water or new Honda than any new Toyota. The FT-86 is Toyota's only hope (that is, if they get it right and have a manual-transmission only).
Oh, and the Honda CR-Z owns the Lexus, since the Honda has the proper 3 pedals, a manual transmission.
And I'd gladly take that "s****y Volvo" and turn it into a rally car.
An iQ is considerably smaller than a FIAT 500, and alot less comfortable to travel in. That interior does look pretty sweet though, it's been along time since I've seen a luxury Small car, Though I'd still rather have a 205 Gentry or an Allegro Vanden Plas.

people are stupid. the pedal isnt the fucking problem. it is the drive by wire system. there is interference between the accelerator and the computer, causing it to accelerate out of control. even the CEO said that. stop mis informing people.

The Lexus CT200h. Lexus is a little late to the party when Honda revealed there CRZ awhile back. The CRZ has sport mode setting and comes with 6spd manual. Lets see what the CT200H offers. Hopefully it offers a manual transmission. If it doesn't, who would pay more for a CT200H when they can get a CRZ. The CRZ is probably going to be cheaper anyways. Personally I think the CRZ is much more sportier looking than the CT200H.

Why are some of the people saying the IQ is the Cygnet? They are not the same cars. The Cygnet is based on the IQ. They are both the same idea, but both very different cars in terms of specs. The only reasons the Cygnet goes for 40K Euros is because of the brand, and did you see that interior? It doesn't look cheap.

As for Toyota making something exciting, that's impossible. All the newer Toyotas are extremely bland and boring. I'm more excited over a glass of water or new Honda than any new Toyota. The FT-86 is Toyota's only hope (that is, if they get it right and have a manual-transmission only).
Oh, and the Honda CR-Z owns the Lexus, since the Honda has the proper 3 pedals, a manual transmission.
And I'd gladly take that "s****y Volvo" and turn it into a rally car.

An iQ is considerably smaller than a FIAT 500, and alot less comfortable to travel in. That interior does look pretty sweet though, it's been along time since I've seen a luxury Small car, Though I'd still rather have a 205 Gentry or an Allegro Vanden Plas.

If I had an Aston Martin then why the hell would I want to buy that stupid little Cygnet?! If Aston Martin was going to sell it on a global basis I still wouldn't buy it and I love Aston Martins. Why? Because it looks like shit. Who cares about the inteorior quality? No one but the owner and friends get to see it. The Cygnet is nothing more than a pathetic Smart car with a better interior. Still don't know why they're spending so much time and money on the Cygnet. If they think the future of automobiles is small and efficient, why would people want to pay a premium for a re-worked Toyota? Actually I'm sure some people would buy it just for the interior (which is really nice), but I just don't think it makes much sense at this point.
