  • the captions are usually pretty funny

  • Beet TV? IT sounds familiar.

  • I use the cc on my videos, and captions display on my caption and subtitles setting page, but when I switch to my channel view, cc is not available. For example, as I watch this video,(YouTube Auto Captioning featured on Beet TV ) I cannot access the captions, I get the same message "captions are not available" and a red exclamation mark.

  • Why isn't this captioned?

  • If YouTube's machine-transcription doesn't work for you, you can try VideoCritter, a new nonprofit website with a slick and easy-to-use WYSIWYG tool for created human-generated captions. It supports Unicode so it can handle non-English character sets.

  • this guys prob a sick pop and locker or tutter yo

  • press teh caption button on the right and watch it fail on their own video

  • so it improves search-ability on youtube?

    =

sending troops there to billy I mean it's you know

  • 1:36 CAPTIONS ATTACK!

    (Auto Captions)

  • this is JOKE??? yes??

  • im very proud of this guy... =) go ahead Google!

  • auto captions in this vid are really sorta funny.

  • where did Ken Harrenstien get his t-shirt? anybody?

  • @himynameisgus i dunno but i think it says google in sign language. Makes sense anyway

  • I can infact understand what he is saying him self with out reading it. I like it how it says google, google in sign language :). I love google, they're sure are growing and I trust google. they're good at what they do.

  • guys like this inspire me a lot. Being a healthy person we sometimes do not do as much as these guys do.

  • Thank you for the awesome informational video. I just started putting some text/captions across my videos. I never realized how many people it will help out. Again thank you!

    Julianne

  • this guy is amazing :)

  • how many languages does it support?

  • @anasapple 52

  • It only supports English, but you can use Google Translator, for other languages.

  • agreed! im norweagian, and caption makes it so much easyer to understand what they say!

  • very cool!! 字幕很准确哦!!

  • mmhi really need to find somebody who clicks with me!

  • In before the automatic captioning failing to be accurate, ie "I turned on my Xbox 360 and put in Assassin's Creed" becomes "I turned up the lex box 360 and put up sassy's greed"

  • @BlueKewne Until the technology becomes more mature, I think its most useful feature is automatic timing. ie, you can just upload a simple text file with all the captions, and Google will take care of syncing those captions with the speach/sounds in the video.

  • Is he mute as well as deaf? Because he's moving his mouth, yet he is still performing sign language.

  • @electrigadget im guessing that he is deaf now but he used to not be so he knew how to talk, but now he talks with sign language because he cant hear how he says things, him saying it helps the translator understand him

  • am I be going to to be able to read that with all those advertisements?

  • They have to make money, yes?

I would love if you made a huge internet website (like this) and have NO source of money at all. Dumb ignorant fuckass, you can 'x' them out anyway.

  • great demo

  • Wow this is crazy quit stealing my ideas.... The other day i was thinking youtube needs Caption on videos and look at this now lol good job.

  • I wonder if they will also do sign-language to caption?

  • cool new features ;]

  • it misses off the start of the sentences , like there at the end of the last sentence. otherwise really cool!

  • This can make watching subbed anime a much faster turn around.

  • YES, my idea as well

  • this guy looks like the medic from TF2

  • @FernandoSRamirez hahaha good call. I love playing the medic

  • This will bridge the language gap.. I look forward to watching Japanese videos.. Those who make videos should be excited because in the near future everyone all over the world will be able to watch and understand their videos thanks to subtitles in the viewers own language. Searching for videos will also be interesting, since the title, description and tags will now have a new friend, the actual voice content converted to text that will also become indexed. Nice work.

    Peace

  • That guy's shirt is so cool, says "GOOGLE" in sign language.

  • I didn't realize the shirt says "Google", nice though :)

  • Thanks!

  • wonderful

  • Revolutionary in so many ways.

    5 stars

    Peace

  • ya ya ya baby, Google rocks!!!!

  • Good work Google!!!

  • Woah, how does he understand what she asks him?

I hope the subtitles will get much easier to add, then I'll use them for my vids.

  • There is another people that is "saying" to him. Got it?

  • Oh. That's pretty obvious. xD

  • Awesome!!

  • next sign language recognition?

    or lip reading??

  • google tv anynone??

  • cool!

  • Great T-Shirt!

Since youtube announced this option to just upload some text and make it captioning. I used it since day #1. Me and my viewers love it. I always write down what I want to say in a video, and I always hate it to search the write time where I say something on a video. But now, google does it itself... It saves my a lot of time, it also increased the video's I can make in a day...

    THANK YOU YOUTUBE! :D

  • Deaf people have their right

I hope Technology help them more

  • is it "google" on his t-shirt? that is awesome.

  • yep.

  • cool

  • Cool

  • I LOVE his t-shirt!!!!!!

  • nce

  • this is a very important achievement for the technology, now the deaf people can watch YouTube videos with no problems =D

  • when is the automatic captioning gonna launch off?

  • Next Year, sure.
