I believe it's quite obvious the remote is infra-red. There's a black translucent piece of plastic on the front of the remote and there's a black one on the front of the macbook which is a receiver. Steve pointed that out. It must be IR.

Why would anyone buy a mac?

It's not a BlueTooth remote, it uses Infra Red. That's what the black circle on the front of your macbook pro is for. It's the IR sensor.

No, MacBook Pro's only come in the silver. MacBooks come in White and Black, but I didn't want a MacBook. MacBook Pros are way better. ;-)
