I don't know why but for me, Asians who speak fluent English seem easier to understand than Americans or Englishmen.

I think it's easy to understand them because they are new to the language in comparison to a native English speaker, with this in mind, us English speakers are able to understand each other because we become accustom to the language and start to develop a little bit a slang, where as new English speaking people are trying to think of proper English grammar and sentence structure.

@dakoata121212 your spot on. I learned german as a teenager and i find that speaking with other people whose second language is german are easier to understand. Most all classes that teach foreign languages teach them in a fashion so that the stuents will speak with perfect annunciation grammar and respect. This is done so that professionals and businessmen will give more respect to a student who attempts to converse in that language. Plus it shows a genuine respect for that language.
