Tours of duty in the Luftwaffe and RAF were different.
In the Luftwaffe you literally flew missions until you were killed or injured. In the RAF you did a fixed tour of Combat Duty and then you were transferred to say, Ground Duties, Instructing etc. So British Aces did not score so high as their German Counterparts
My Cousin took out 7 B-17's in the Luftwaffe before he died. He wasn't Nazi or an Ace, but he was my hero and did his duty to protect the Fatherland. Thank You for this Video. I give it a high rating.
Luftwaffe was so good they only fielded 2 aircraft on D Day.. Luftwaffe pilots were courageous, no doubt.. But Allied bombing missions and superior allied fighters laid waste to the myth of the Luftwaffe
