There are also 3 graves of British sailors in Bayview Cemetery, Morehead City, which seem to have been forgotten until this year. They were crewmen from the San Delfino. There was a ceremony at the gravesides on November 11th 2010 and I hope someone filmed it for Youtube and posterity.

My great uncle from the Western Isles, Scotland, was on this ship and I have recently came across letters sent from him to the family at home. I have been following his route via his letters until he was lost.The family had no idea that a grave yard of remembrance was in North Carolina or that bodies were found. We were on holiday last summer (2007) in South Carolina - if only we had known. God bless these brave young men RIP
