All it seems one can do sometimes is sense that something is strained, or that these poor guys are exhausted. I don't think he could have survived this long in the music industry without being a bit of an ass. Can you imagine Ace or Peter, God love them, being the leadership of KISS? Well the reason why Gene seems pissed and irritated can be seen on "Gene Simmons Family Jewels". The day started with the hotel staff missplacing his costume. If I was him, I'd be in a pretty greedy mood myself.

Gene and Paul aren't the most important. Ace, and Peter in ym opinion are the better members of KISS. Without them they'd have only been Wicked Lester with new members, Ace, and Peter, are the reasons KISS is what it was, you can't beat Ace's guitar playing, and you can't beat Peter on Black Diamond, and Beth.
