Martial arts is for everyone, everyone has a different reason for joining them. I bet she joined to lose weight, she took the step and she's being awesome. I dout any of the people making fun of her could say the same =P The only thing I see is a woman trying to better herself, I see NOTHING funny about it, it actually makes me happy to see that she's doing martial arts, it's a good example of what martial arts are for, for bettering ourselves. This is all very well, and indeed true as far as it goes. However, that fact that her detractors are probably overweight basement dwellers does not remove the fact that she is flailing about like a spastic whale, with neither form nor focus.
To a master, this is truly sad, but it IS also funny as all hell.
