Thanks for posting this. I wish I could find the Slimer Ecto Pies that had a green sugary coating, with green ecto slime in the side. They were like sugar on steroids. The 80s were awesome when we were free to eat what ever we wanted to by our own choice without legislators deciding for us what was good or not.

Can't say if it was available in Canada, but it was released in 1987, and it was really, really sugary sweet.

And just for the record, the actor in the commercial is David Kaufman.

They still sell it. It's just not NAME Ecto Cooler. Slimer left the box in 1997. Even though this happened, it was still named Ecto Cooler. In 2001, the drink changed it's name to Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen. The drink went to another name change, in 2006. It is now known as Crazy Citrus Cooler. If you buy it, which is still hard to find in some stores, your receipt may say Ecto Cooler. You grocer may order some for you if you ask them.
