Admittedly, the press isn't as free in the UK as it is in the US (don't get me into that, it's a mess) but at the same time, analysing and criticising a piece of work that's been put up is perfectly legal. Someone clearly has their boxers in a knot over this to go this far.
I suggest you go to the FanFic recommendations page of TVTropes. There's a little thing known as Sturgeon's Law, in which only 10% of anything is any good. They hold that 10%.
You guys might wanna look up the brief talk by British film critic Mark Kermode on the 'point' of critics - and how the people questioning the point of them are usually the ones who have just been rightly mauled by them for making a steaming pile of horse manure. He uses film as an example but it can be applied to any other media outlet, not least the piss-poor scribblings that this Tesch lunatic has the gall to call YA fiction.

I know you can't judge a book before you read it but I read the excerpts that were used for marketing this book and I barfed.
