It looks like you put a lot of work into this machine. I notice that you are using threaded rod vs lead screws. This is why it runs slow as you stated in an earlier post. Lead screws are not too expensive I got mine at McmasterCarr. I happen to have a local warehouse. I am using 1/2" 10 threads per inch with 2 starts so I only have 5 turns per inch. I took a small cutoff of the screw and ground it into a tap to make my own lead nuts out of high density plastic.
It is a wood router machine, I am pretty sure he isn't making parts for the space shuttle. The accuracy obtained by using wood and aluminum will be just fine. The craftsmanship looks GREAT. Good job.
I hope that the humidity is stable as a rock or your going to have a lot of movement in the shape of your machine. It looks great I was just imagineing it in aluminum or plastic. I will look forward to see how it performs. I like the barring arrangment. Temp has to stay stable with the aluminum also that stuff moves like you wouldn't believe. But as long as those two factors are stable it should last along time and be quite accurate. I hope things are well with you and yours. Best regards Mark
