BTW you only need 100 bells to get a money tree and a golden shovel. This only costs all together 1, 100 bells. Two shovels and 100 bells for your tree.

...just skip over 6 days or a WEEK at most not a darn year :/ and it doesnt take days to pluck weeds. just about an hour or two...but its still annoying. i dont time travel that drastically anymore. justt a few days, and once again, a WEEK at most... lol once i put the game into my lil cousins DS, and her DS was set to march in 2076 i mean COME ON i plucked out all the weeds again, the weeds came back on MY ds, i plucked the more, accidentally turned it off without saving, and you get the idea

a golden water can is actually really hard to get, but i can tell you how. This is how: you have to keep your town in awesome shape for sixteen days, then on the 17 you should get it. You make sure your town is in great shape by going to the post office and checking with Pelly in environment. The golden shovel turns your dead flowers into golden flowers! hope that helped you. :-)
