For the most part it is a TERRIBLE resource for information.

Recently, I came across several wikipedia write-ups with racial slurs and blatant lies and misinformation, one writer even admitting to the fact that his comments about an ethnic group's relgious persuasion were an "opinion".

So opinions and NOT historical facts are acceptable to wikipedia and there are no measures offered to permanently remove such nonsense from this site?

Any clueless person can post there. UNRELIABLE source!

Absolutely opinions are not acceptable particularly when many individuals mistakenly lean on this as a legitmate resource for information.

However, the reality is that that is not the case. And it has been my experience reading many of the articles on that site which are in fact based on "personal" opinions regarding ethnic groups and their history and origin. Many of which have been offensive.

Someone puts something in an article, based on opinion.

Someone says, "excuse me, but that is nothing more than you opinion".

Someone changes it back.

Sorry, but I have to give my 2 cents here. Wikipedia will never be reliable because people are not reliable. Its a free for all, and unless you can establish a strong structure with strong leadership, it will be rife with articles such as "And this castle was built during the reign of DOUGIE IS A HOMO LOLZ".
