  • i totally saw and cheered watching this show...but also loved watching Fun House

  • I remember watching this show when I was little and I wanted my family do the obstacle course.

  • Take a shot for everytime Marc Summers says "aaand"

  • Well, score one a record of time I'd say

  • great show!

  • I used to cheer and dance my ass off every time the obstacle course part came along :-)

  • Brings back memories!!

  • Extreme Japanese Obstacle Courses now thats how double dare should have been.

  • This was a really easy course, Even for a regular 2 person team.

  • I used to hate waiting for this part of the show cuz I didn't like the question answering part. I just wanted to see the obstacle course LOL.

  • WOW Great Time! Looks like fun =)

  • These used to seem harder when I was younger now they seem a little lame. I loved the show or maybe just this course lol.

  • waffle girl cheated.. she had to scope that out before it started

  • @Tizzebow22

it's not cheating if she sees the flag before her obstacle is played. That'd be like intentionally throwing your shot at something because of something conceived in your mind that would be cheating.

This isn't the NCAA judging this!

  • i used to like the the giant nose obsticle the best. Watching them having to pick that giant nose was always entertaining

  • The concept of Double Dare was just Genius. I don't think there will ever be another game show like it again.

  • When the clock on the video icon says under 1:00 for an obstacle course, you know there is a good chance of a win.

  • I loved this show--they have something like it now...but with more dangerous obstacles.

  • da good old days

  • Jesus, that family annihilated that course.

  • I could watch reruns of this all day. Marc Summers is a pretty inspring story, too.

  • XD my mom was telling me about this show it looks fun

  • god bless that unforgiving family, you fast steads of modern technology.

  • Wow they finished the Obstacle Course with 17 seconds left, that might be the best i've ever seen and the person at the end missed the flag so it couldve been 18 or 19 seconds left...awesome

  • I used to love Double Dare, those were the days.

  • I saw Marc Summers at Penn Station, NY one night, and I was STARSTRUCK! Ok, not really....

  • oh double dare, how you bring me back to my child hood.

  • I remeber this being bigger and colorful.

  • I think the show where they rummaged through the house was called "Finders Keepers". Just wondering...but does anyone miss Nickelodeon Gas network?

  • all for $37

  • Marc!

  • Does anyone remember the name of a nickelodeon show from the late 80's/early 90's where the contestant had to rummage through a dirty house? I love that show and I can't figure out what it was. Might not have been Nickelodeon but I thought Marc Summers was the host.

  • @mizzletits : Finder's Keepers?

  • @xpander2k That was it, I was wrong about the host. Thanks! Unfortunately it was way better in my memory. ;o)

  • holy shit thats fast

  • Wow, they did that in 43 seconds. Thats one obstacle every 5.6 seconds...right?

  • wow, they did it in 43 seconds! thats one obstacle every 5.6 seconds...right?

  • That was the best running of the obstacle course ive ever seen but it did seem like the obstacles were easy...i want to know how that kid found the flag in the waffles so fast

  • Usually any obstacle that involved searching for the flag in some type of giant food like that waffle, or pancakes, or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich spells D-O-O-M n the obstacle course. They were lucky to find it right away.

  • @xpander2k Yeah I saw those two big waffles and I was like ohhh thanks for playing..wait, what?

  • wow that was fast, wonder what they won

  • lmao...did yall see the family guy version of this

  • I liked the human hamster wheel! Now I watch Marc on the foodnetwork's show Unwrapped!

  • was it just me or did the obstacles get easier in later episodes like this one? two hardest obstacles imo.

    1. "nightmare": the giant pillow where the flag was in all the feathers

2."inside out": a bunch of multicolour balloons that you had to pop to find the flag, made even more challenging cause they put decoy flags of different colours in the balloons that didn't have the real flag...

  • They had some pretty hard ones later on in it's run, though. A few that come to mind are Ant Farm, Garbage Truck, Mirror Maze, Shark and Quicksand.

  • ah ok, i don't remember any of these, i only have the early eps...

  • Marc Summers is awesome! I got his autographed picture when I was a kid. I thought it was so cool. It's a shame not that many people know who he is now.

  • At the End They Grab Marc & Put him in The Slime Canal! & Harvey Say PG for Pretty Gross at the End of the Show!

  • Before they Started the Sixty Seconds Marc got Someone to Dive in the Slime Canal! That's A Fact

  • Fastest time I have ever seen.

  • This actually looks very fun even now as a mildly retarded adult

  • That girl freakin' homed in on the flag in "Blue Plate Special!" Most people would at least take the top waffle off first but she knew exactly where to find that thing. She must've spotted it during the obstacle introduction.

  • either that, or after finishing obstacle three, she went over and started looking for the flag without touching the obstacle ... not sure if there was any rules against or for that, but thats what i wouldve done.

  • All too easy!

  • looking at it now it seems to easy. when i was little all the stuff they had to do was so major haha

  • Behind TPIR, this is my favorite game show of all time. Man, this takes me back.

  • I loved watching Double Dare when I was growing up. I also liked "You Can't Do That On Television".

  • Comment removed

  • damn, they mustve had a plane to catch.

  • dangg.. they were fast lol..=)

  • I never saw this show before. But I think it was a really cool game show in the 1970s

  • it wasn't in the '70s it was '80s and '90s

  • There was a game show called Double Dare in the 70s, but this isn't the same show. This is a children's game show that was on Nickelodeon starting in the 80s and it was the Shiznit!!

Oh the memories of my childhood. I miss the 80s and 90s. :(

  • you get the flag go down the pipe, pick up the flag down the teeth and YOU WIN A FREE TICKET TO CHUCKY CHEESE!

  • I think the biggest prizes they ever had was either a Trip to club med or a Chrysler minivan. It was for fun.

  • that obstacle course looked a lot bigger when i was younger..

  • yeah it did lol

  • @Equint77 Lol, I feel the exact same way! It looked like something out of boot-camp when I was 7.

  • @Equint77 heh, that's exactly what I was thinking.

  • @Equint77 yea i know right i was thinking the same thing

  • @Equint77 i was thinking the same thing!

  • i love this! :)

  • i love this show

  • This was a huge part of my childhood!

  • I think this was on the fox run of the series, as Marc's in a tux and it's not the standard DD t-shirts for the contestants.

  • i miss this show. now marc summers just does shows about food and beer

  • Does he throw food at people just for the nostalgia?

  • the girl cheated at 0:40 :p

  • She must have studied here obstacle before they started and just went straight for the flag lol...

  • oh she cheated for sure!

  • Oh man, DOuble Dare takes me WAAAAY back!!! Anyone else remember "You can't do that on Television"!?! Memories...

  • If the garbage truck obstacle, Shark! or Da Nose was in there, no way they would've gotten past those ones.

  • Yeah, those obstacles sucked. But the worst had to be the balloon popping one.

  • Inside Out (the balloon one) was definitely hard, putting other flags inside the balloons made it even more difficult.

  • my vote for the hardest was nightmare..(The one with the giant pillow)...inside out was a close second though, maily because of the trick flags...

  • I love the whole thing.

  • I Love the obstacle course the best 2.

  • i always wanted to slide down the sundae slide with my mouth open

  • Me too! lol

  • so, is this from one of the very first episodes or from the final episode?

  • This was the FOX run of Family Double Dare in 1988, a different series from the Nickelodeon version altogether.

  • the Nick version was way better

  • I wish Double Dare was on DVD.

  • "Remember, she loves the outdoors!"

What does that have to do with a suspension bridge exactly?

  • WOW! Only 17 seconds left on the clock? That is incredible. Since Marc Summers didn't return as the Double Dare 2000 host, I can understand after finding out that he had O.C.D. throughout most of his life, even during the first season of Double Dare all the way to Family Double Dare.

  • I think it's more because they wanted a fresh face on the screen. However, Marc did remain Executive Consultant.

  • Another game show I used to watch as a kid. I think the record I remember was around 11ish, but that's very impressive.

  • :'-0 I miss this. Someday I'll be able to compete in a physical challenge...someday...

  • Who wants to see this back on TV & NOT on Nickelodeon so much?

  • FOX version was better and fun, with the music and better scenes!

  • I'm surprised this has stayed up so long, Viacom being the copyright nazis they are. Good that it has though.

  • I think that actually FOX has the copyrights to this version, it just was in assiocation with V. V was the ones who pulled out because Fox was wanting to change it into something other than Family Friendly

  • My favorite obstacle was with the ice cream slide. The most difficult and slick obstacle.

  • Mm, the waffles always made me hungry.

  • They was not playin

  • Someday I'll do the corse

  • man thats my life long dream is to do the corse

  • What was the point of the drawbridge? You just push the door down and thats it?? lol

  • actually for the kids its a bit harder

  • Not to mention for this one, they had to compensate for the Blue Plate special, they didn't anticipate her finding the flag on the edge.

  • it really helped that the course layout was so compact. its not like they had to run around the set like they had to in Super Sloppy DD after they moved to Orlando. That was a huge soundstage to run around. but this was great. Too bad it's not on TV anymore. and I didn't mind the FOX version of it shown here.

  • Man, AMAZING!!!! Why couldn't Double Dare stay on the air???? :*-(

  • Man, she got lucky with those waffles. Usually when you have to find the flag in giant waffles, pancakes, pizza, or peanut butter & jelly it kills the whole obsticle course.

  • You're right, it does, usually. Someone said the producers probably told her where the flag was, and they're probably right. :-)

  • i was on that show

  • I was on Cops

  • Ah-mazing!

  • The pizza seemed to be the hardest, or I think what's called the Sundae Slide, cuz it was so slippery.

  • Those waffles were fixed the producer prolly told her exactly where it was.

  • iS 43 SECONDS THE QUICKEST TIME EVER FOR THE OBSTACLE COURSE?

  • Yes it was.

  • Yes indeed! This was the fastest run in DD history!

  • And from the short-lived 1988 Family Double Dare. Actually, I think that once the obstacle course was won in 42 seconds on Double Dare 2000.

  • 43 seconds... SICK!

  • Waiter, there's a kid in this waffle

  • Oh wow! She actually found the flag in the waffle!

It was either the dogfood, the PB&J sandwich, The Pancake, or the Waffle kids would have the most dificulty with.

    Way to go. :D

  • or the pizza

  • you rang? LOL

  • I think this episode is when Fammily Double Dare briefly had a run on Fox as of 1988.

  • Fastest Obstacle Course ever. It seemed that the obstacles used here are the easier ones they have used. Four of them were just obstacles that had the flag in plain sight rather than have to search forthem. Maybe they were just very athletic or lucky to find the flag in that waffle very fast. The obstacle course is difficult & they seemed to do it with ease. Also, the difficult ones I feel were accomplished first such as the fire crawl & kid sqisher. Congradulations to them.

  • What was their prize?

  • WOW! That had to be a world's record!

  • it is.

  • If you could find or link me the one I think was the 1992 SEason where the father of the 4-person group grabs the last flag just as time expires and they gave it to them.

  • You gotta be more specific... :p

  • uh.....ALL OF EM! :-)

  • fox family double dare, the price is right prime time specials, and wwf saturday night's main event were three reasons my parents let me stay up when i was 5 this rules!!!

  • What's the fastest time?

  • This is the fastest time!

  • It could of been even faster too.

  • No, I'm saying the clip that we're writing comments about is RECORDED as the fastest Obstacle Course time in the show's run, including DD2K.

  • 43 seconds was the fastest time. There was a family on DD2K finished the course in 45 seconds and another on Family Double Dare in 1990 who finished in 47 seconds.

  • I KNOW!

  • I used to have all of the music and sound effects from Double Dare saved on My computer but My computer messed up and I had to reinstall Windows and now I don't have any of the music or sounds. I tried finding the music on the web but all I could find was the opening theme. Does anyone have the music or know where I can download it?

  • Do you have the music cues of 1988 updates 15 seconds on SUPER SLOPPY DOUBLE DARE & the jazzy remix 15/20/30 seconds ones, from FOX FAMILY DOUBLE DARE? If so, let me know and hoping you can email it. I love to here it again!!!

  • I had every single music cue and sound effect from Double Dare saved on My computer that I downloaded from the web but My computer messed up and I lost all of the cues and sounds. I went to download them again but the two websites I downloaded them from don't exist anymore. So right now, I don't where to find all of the cues and sounds. I wished I would have uploaded everything to the web but I didn't think about it. I'd definitely love to hear the music cues again!!!

  • Does anyone have the full episode of this show on here, if so let me know.

  • I have it. Not posting it though. PM me and I'll work out a way of getting it to you.

  • That's a probably a record for the shortest obstacle course.

  • by 1 second it is

  • Wow, I still remember this one. I can't believe I still have the same "burst out crying" reaction to whenever someone wins at these old Nickelodeon gameshows. XP

  • Ah, remember when Nickelodeon used to be all about having FUN? Now it's OMG! Look at the highlights in my hair! OMG HE'S SOOOOOOO HOT!

  • Don't you want this to be back on the air and make it call "DOUBLE DARE" (for kids, teenages, adult, families, celebrites, special and Celebrity Family edition)? I would love to be back on the air, for 01 hour. Obstacle Course... 65 seconds to do all 08 of them!

  • judy you are the best. keep posting these double dare videos. cause viacom should not control what we post on here

  • best DOUBLE DARE EVER- FOX FAMILY DOUBLE DARE & only fastest course run ever, only had 17 seconds left (43 seconds)!
