Voltron was the shit. I remember waking up early every morning to watch it. Voltron puts the Power Rangers to shame. Voltron vs. Power Rangers, Voltron 1, Power Rangers -100. I've never found a more unique storyline and unique character development then Voltron.

@jstinson78 : In the Japanese orginal GoLion, Voltron was a blood thirsty killing machine and he killed all kinds of space beasts. He went to kill the space goddess and she split him into 5 pieces. Just search Youtube for GoLion and you'll find the Japanese subtitled in English. Voltron rocks!

At 12:16, in the original cartoon he didn't say anything silly like "You can not escape!" but instead said "We have awaited you!". The fact is that they're not looked on as "strangers" when they arrive at all but are heralded as the arriving "saviors" of the planet. As I watch the original Golion cartoon, it's interesting to note all the ways in which they changed the story. Also, he's wasn't the "castle diplomat" as he says in this version, but rather the "royal military strategist".

A little before 6 minutes in, if you're wondering what the original dialog is he's saying that the people might have been cannibals. Thus the reason why "Hunk" looks so frightened after it. It's funny, they change the dialog so much but they can't change the facial expressions the characters give. It's also amusing how there's a violence warning before this cartoon. The original Japanese Golion was way more violent!
