  • @gtafan110010 they did? never saw that article

im a bit of a tech nerd so im looking forward to seeing what the next consoles will be built with and i should have a good idea of what they will be able to do before launch, something i didnt have for previous console releases.

pc's are great but we need a new gen of consoles, ps3 and 360 even more so are old tech now, is why i built a gaming pc :D

  • @AJATOMICA ps4 will probably no go beyond 1080p, because tv's aren't made with a higher resolution often anyway, i'm pretty sure most games will have 60fps, except for a few that are either unoptimised, or use very demanding tech. like right now most games use repeating textures, which demands less, i expect next gen games to have a lot more original textures. only race games on ps3 are 1080p and 60fps, because they repeat a lot. (gt5, wipeout hd). probably dx 10, though 11'd be nice

  • @gtafan110010 dont think the ps3 uses dx as thats why it supposed to be so hard to code for and i do get what you mean, 1080p is fine really, just up the AA and so on in console games and add in a lot of the effects that pc gamers can use to make it look smoother.

  • @AJATOMICA ps3 uses something similar to a slightly updated dx9, while 360 pretty much uses dx9. most exclusive ps3 games already use mlaa developed especially for it, so i'm pretty sure something like that will also be used next gen (or current gen, since wii-u is about to release). i just hope ps4 keeps a stable frame rate, even with the far more demanding games (kz4, i expect a lot). some big games don't always keep a stable frame rate on consoles (crysis 2 averages 26)

  • @gtafan110010 I don't think there's even a need to go above 1080p, unless you have a giant monitor that'll need a higher resolution because of all the extra pixels.

  • @Onimyst well quite some pc gamers go above 1080p already. but there's no need for consoles to go above 1080p, since tv's don't support it

  • @Onimyst Well if you're at a PC you may as well play at the highest resolution. You're no more than 2ft away from the screen so you'll probably notice the difference.

  • @BDBstriker water is very very very hard to make realistic, since every drop has diffrent mass, let alone whole sea's. it takes a whole lot of processing power. resistance 2 does it pretty well, but it's still a bit overkill with big explosions

  • I would like to dip the cup crowd goes wild lol

  • shame this never happened

  • @AJATOMICA well uncharted has nice water... and uhm.. resistance 2...

  • @gtafan110010 it's not the same, this is driven by the physx tech that all nvidia cards have these days, the ps3 was ment to have it, but sony rushed the development to compete with the 360 so they had to make some cuts in the hardware.

shame as it would add a level of awesome to the ps3 exclusive games that 360 just couldnt do, maybe next gen who knows

  • @AJATOMICA well, you could think like this, since the ps3 got cut down a little in power, it did probably become a little cheaper, and sony already lost money on every sku. further more ps3's exclusives this year seem to have proven quite nicely that the ps3 hardware is more powerfull. newer 360 games do look great (think gears 3), but that is on about uncharted 2 level, which released in 2009. not only that, but 360 launched a year earlier aswell

  • @gtafan110010 yeah i know, but it still would have been nice to have this tech in the current gen playstation :)

im keeping my fingers crossed that it's in the next one.

i have a gaming pc that has a physx enabled card and it really does add to the games....... that use it lol

  • @AJATOMICA well since ps4 will probably launch around 2014, it would be a scandal if it didn't have dx11 and physix, in my opinion. that tech released in like 2009-2010 (well at least got marketed more around that time, with mafia 2). so i am sure that after 4 years, the new console hardware should have it, and be affordable at a price point of around 400. hope for more ram in next gen ps3, crytek asked for 8gb of it at least

  • lol ahhh 2005, when it was so much fun to make fun of the ps3 lol nice to see it doing well now

  • Ok so they have had this great water for 3 years now; when do we see an all encompassing boat racing game; offshore, regatta, river jet boating, formula, drag racing, sailing etc. So much potential...

  • i bought my first ps3 for 600 dollars i cant believe how cheap they got. when i tell my grandkids that i got a ps3 ill be like "I payed my first video game systems for 600 dollars!" in the future, they'll be like "Wow, I payed $1,500 dollars for mine!"

and I'll go...did your game console perform teh internets and high definition dvd?

  • secret ps3 game?

  • will the guy in front plz fix his hair?!!!!!!!!!!!

  • False

  • They showed it 2005....... Now , 2009 , it´s still not possible.

  • whats this called?

  • Thats just a tech demo

  • This must be the reason why 360 fanboys are so jealous to ps3 x3

  • Those Sony idiots stole the Motion sensing remote from Nintendo, very original.

  • this is proof of the ps3's potential

  • water and ducks... great

hey did you hear Phil Harrison resigned sony today? XD

  • ...yeah, it also proof that the potential sucked because after 3yrs and there's nothing to show for. BTW, I do own a PS3,Wii and X360. Hopefully KillZone 2 won't disappoint.

  • Yeah this point of view thing pwns. Upload more

  • wow,someone rich plz buy me ps3,lollol

  • @Lovro2 The PS3 costs $250. It's not that much, haha

  • @WiredTissue that comment was 4 years ago dumbass it costed way more then
